And Ty Cline will be a factor against all that righty pitching as well.

Sorry Dawgs. I was away from the computer until noon today. I went to Qwest Arena to see the Idaho Steelheads beat Las Vegas 9-5. Yes, it is esciting ECHL Hockey. My fiance is a hockey player so I find myself being very involved in hockey. I either watch her on Tuesday nights (she plays on a mens hockey team) or watch the Steelheads. Perhaps I will have to play Strato Hockey one day. I have played millions of games of the Strato Basketball, Football, and Baseball but could never pull the trigger on buying Hockey. Mainly because I used to not give a crap and didn't know the rules. It turns out hockey is awesome.
My Royals are finally ready to go. I'm guessing we will not be leading the league in HRs. However, having Taylor at DH will work in my favor and my pitching staff is pretty deep. Since I was the last one to build a team, I will start off in last place....and hope to at least spend 1 day out of that spot. I hope opening day I can win 2 of 3.
I'm ready to have some fun!!!

Thanks Pelzer for picking my team to win the West going away. I will be purchasing bags of horseshoes and rabbit feet to try and offset the ultimate jinx you have thrust upon us. I'm going to do my own little league preview. I really thought the Royals had the best chance in the West, but I'm re-thinking that now. Why couldn't I have the Orioles? I'm pretty sure I could have taken the West.....but then again, I thought my team in the "Misfits Bro" was going to be good.
My Royals may not even hit 100 homeruns so I guess Kelly and Foy will have to steal a million bases to score any runs and my non-descript $3M and $4M pitchers had all better pitch at or better than their season ERA or it will be a long season!!! Good luck everyone.

I haven't played any of the other on-line SOM games, but I used to play SOM basketball in the 70s. My cousin screwed up one of my seasons by taking the '75 Celtics and then playing Jim Ard over Dave Cowens just b/c as a lifelong Knicks fan he hated Cowens' guts! Needless to say, his Celts didn't do so well.

Strat O Matic hockey is a fun game. I've never played basketball. Baseball is the most fun of the 3 I've played.

Just got back from a v-e-r--y long day of shopping with my wife. Damn I thought christmas was over. She kept saying get you something-get you something. Didn't get anything all day except of course the 2006 preview. Now tonite when she asks me why I didn't get anything I can spring a surprize on her. I have spent $150.00 the last week in entries to my 5 x 5 leagues and this one!!  I let her go wild blowing money. Oh if she only knew.

What a great scenario. She knows you know that she is spending money on frivalous things for her. She will feel a little guilty and treat you like a king for the next few days. Meanwhile, you spent a lot of money she doesn't know about which means you get to play your Strato and at the same time have the wife treat you like royalty.
Well played my friend. Well Played!

It's nice to be popular for once.

:D :D After 30+ years with the same women you learn what works  By the way thanks for being patient everyone, this was the first league I have tried to put together. With only a couple of blunders we made it. (Thanks to the Bombers for the help). Once we get our teams after the draft I am going to share some really interesting stats with everyone with teams being played in this league. I also have another theme idea to throw at you guys for when this one is winding down to the Senators crowning of the trophy.
