I thought you guys might get a chuckle out of this trade offer I received:

Subject: trade offer
How about Vlad Guerrero & either Michael Young or Rafael Furcal for O. Cabrera, Josh Beckett & Lance Berkman. That might thin your staff a little but look at that lineup. You would have the best in the league...easy. But, as long as your not in my division anymore, you only get to beat up my pitchers a few times. Let me know what you think.

    :?

That's one thing I've noticed about this league - everyone seems to value their own players so much higher than everyone else does. Trying to work a deal here is like trying to ski uphill :?

Yeah I've seen a couple of examples of lopsided offers, probably wasn't to cool to call it out on the board though Keith. That's the kind of thing that can lead to bad feelings and animosity.

On a different note, I still haven't heard word 1 from either Dalinoth or Joe. I'm giving them until Wednesday of next week, but if they don't respond by then, think about peeps you might know in other leagues that may be willing to take over one of their teams.

[b:d8a430a45c]DO NOT[/b:d8a430a45c] make invitations yet, just make a mental note of who you think might fit in well with this motley crew. Then we can make a list and send out some invites if warrented.

I really don't want it to come to that, but I've sent them both notices through the message board, PM's league mail and E-mail, I don't know how else I should be expected to get them to respond.

That's cool Keith. Not that I need to explain myself but... take a look.
Berkman .278 34 102 .386 .510 in real life and .241 12 44 .323 .421 for you (great stats). Cabrera .310 8 86 .345 .397 in real life and .215 6 51 .270 .288 for you (he tore it up too). I'll admit, Beckett was stretch, but I figured you'd counter like any other good GM.

By the way: Vlad .324 27 125 .403 .547 in real life and .329 36 113 .399 .604 for me (how awful). Michael Young .315 9 94 .366 .418 and .309 11 78 .344 .405 (no other SS had those #'s). If you wanted Furcal, although he's injured, he's batting a lowly .366 with .448 OBP.

In every category (except D), the guys I offered you destroy your guys. That's why I threw in a pitcher.

Anyway, good job making the playoffs. Oh, that's right... you didn't!

I've heard from Dalinoth, he'll post his drops tomorrow. :D

Still need to hear from Joe...

and not to pour gasoline on the fire, but csjannir, what are the stats you are using for comparison, last years?

cause just looking at Berkman's real life stats for this year ( next season's cards) you are WAY off

BA .360 19 HR's OBP .445 .704 SLG 1.149 OPS
This is why it looks unbalanced.
Berkman, if the season ended today will have the one top hitting cards in the deck.
I'm not sure you are doing this or not, but you've got to figure in current performance too when you make offers in keeper leagues, not just card value.

i used 2007 stats & our 1st season strat stats. i know berkman is lighting it up this year (2008), but he can't keep up that pace and we still have another full season to play with these cards.

plus, vlad is on fire (.410 in his last 10 and you know he'll be well over .300 with 25 HR's and 100 RBI by the end of 2008). furcal i already stated and m. young is in a huge slump but still holding his own at .277 (he had a choice of the two SS).

i understand the premise of the keeper league and one doesn't want to mortgage their future. but, i am trying to win every year, not just future years.

I apologize, I have been in too many leagues lately with Kev, Frank, and Visick where they call each other out on the boards on a daily basis and its a riot. I should have realized we dont have that relationship so I will ignore the shots, but you have to admit that offer was a lil more than a stretch.
