I've never used Werber before and haven't seen him used either. Hoping for some feedback on him.

Had Hornsby and Boggs and a MUCH worse staff, but I used the money from those two to severely upgrade my pitching.

I think you need more power for a neutral park. Esp. since Powell is your only big gun--not the most reliable of the 1B power hitters. Are Money and Knight available? I've had huge success using those two as a platoon at either 1B or 3B. I also really like Ennis as a reliable power bat at Sportsman 46. I'd rather have Ennis-McCoskey-Furillo than Barfield.

Can't speak to Werber.

Money and Knight are available, Ennis is not. I don't know where I'd get the $5 mil for Money though since Knight and Werber are about the same cost. Right now I really like my defense and pitching, but with Doran, Werber, and my pitcher at the bottom of the order, my lineup has a very weak point.

One thought would be to downgrade Doran to Frank White (since Doran won't hit much better and may very well hit worse), and downgrade McLain to someone good in the 5-7 mil range. That would give you enough for Money. If you're willing to give up McLain.

I recently used Money/Knight on a championship team in Comiskey 59 (which is more pitcher than Sportsman). They hit a combined .329-34-130. Money was .317-.577-.362 and Knight .342-.472-.388. Kickass platoon. You could potentially just use Money and let him bat against lefties--not as good, but he's okay against them. Downgrading Doran and dumping Werber might give you enough for that.

I found Treyomo's old database: Werber in netural: .267-.420-.331. Powell actually wasn't much better: .266-.492 slg.

Who is playing where in your OF? You have Barfield and Furillo who both are RFers. McCoskey has your best D for CF so he needs to stay there. You need to dump Barfield and pick up a real LF like Alou (he is one of my favorites). Dump Powell down to Money if you need the $$$. Alou hits anywhere.

Dump Barfield for a cheap CF. Geronimo / McGee platoon has worked great for me. Upgrade Lonborg / Bagby to Hughson / Coveleski. Drop Bennett if need be to get cash.

Ok, I considered all of your suggestions and came up with this team. What do you think of the changes?
