Can Schoendienst Succeed in Griffith?

I like Red for many reasons, but his OBP in a place like Griffith concerns me. How much would he be hampered offensively in a park like that?

Red does not have good OBP anywhere. He can still hit .300 and still plays great defense. If I cannot get Collins or Gehringer, then Red is my top choice for Griffith or Forbes.

Although I've never used him there, I say yes he can. According to DiamondDope he should do well:

Most of his OBP comes from hits, as he doesn't walk much. I say he hits about .320 with a .345 OPB in Griff. Others may have some actual numbers to post though.

I'm definately going to consider him the next time I build a small ball team.

Good luck!

No Red does not have good OBP, but he hits anywhere.
Have used him in the 6th, 7th and 8th slot, have had him knock in 85+ runs a bunch of times.

Arguably the 2nd best value 2nd baseman in the deck. With his lack of bb's and poor clutch it's always a challenge to find the right lineup spot. I invariably hit him 6th or 7th. Love the guy.

Collins is the best second baseman for the money. But you usually need to draft him in Round 1 and that tends to hurt the rest of the team. I haven't had many championships with Collins on the team. But I have with Fox and Schoendienst who are my two favorite second baseman.

For the best guess as to how a player will hit, take 30 points off his listed BA unless he has lots of ballpark hr's on his card. This drop reflects the better pitching and defense he hits into in ATG compared to what he did against the teams from the real life season.

I really appreciate the input, everybody. Here is why I asked the question:

I can trade Eddie Collins and 3 Finger Brown for Pete Alexander and Red Schoendienst. I hate giving up Eddie, but I could get Pete in the deal. Incidentally, I also have Cuyler and Keller, so it would be easy to bat Red 6th or 7th since I have the top of the order covered.

I can also pick up Musial. I was thinking he would make a good 3 hole hitter.
