You've topped the records for 2005 (482) and 2003 (475)

A significant achievement!

I am giving myself the unofficial 2006 record of 478, which was also bnroken by my 2007 total.
http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/team/team_other.html?user_id=7663 Interesting that my 2006 team won the title and the 2007 team won 97 games with the title TBD. Not sure if this means running is a viable strategy that gives you an edge or that it is used so rarely that it is ignored and thus successful. There were good throwing catchers in my division for the 500 SB's. I'll have to try it more often in some advanced leagues. I find it hard to have dominant pitching with all experienced players in a league(no disrespect intended), which is needed at least a bit to keep the scores down so you can score enough to win by running.

Man, LM, that team was probably just Andy Allanson away from 500+ stolen bases. I usually build my teams around speed, but I thought I was successful in the 200-225 stolen base range. These teams you guys are throwing out there would be incredibly fun to watch, in my opinion.

In the 200x games where catchers with good arms and ptichers with good hold ratings are farther between, it has been a very viable strategy. It's worked for me to get 90+ wins many times. Unfortunetly, my teams have gotten killed in the playoffs, so I've stopped doing it

LM, I'm just stunned the other managers allowed you to grab Davis, Raines AND Rickey for your outfield!!! Whoa...

For the times, you could say Von Hayes probably should've stolen a little more even ;)

Congrats. I totally approve, as a guy who used to base entire teams on stolen bases back when I used to play with the cards and dice.

1st place and 97 wins is also impressive, not to mention JUST missing 4 20-game winners!

I'm a little short of some of these awesome totals, but with 429 stolen bases this team took the title, largely because of the pitching, but also because stolen bases were the only way I could get guys around to home. It was really fun to track through the season!
