H. Ramirez or O. Cabrera in Citizens?

H. Ramirez or O. Cabrera in Citizens?

Will the offense and speed offset the poor D? Or should I go with great D and above avg. speed?

It's been done before but I personally cannot play a 4 at SS if I have a choice. I'd go Ocab and keep Hanley for a DH.

No DH. Plus, there is another Citizens in my division. It would need to be one or the other.

Actually, I have 3 options in Citizens, Cabrera, Tut, or Hanley Ramirez.

Here's an article about offense vs defense and how to compare them. I'm not strong on the math part but if Tut is Tulowitzki then it seems like he gives a good balance between D and O.

Went through the math from that site... In a neutral park, Cabrera has them both beat (Ramirez by far and Tut, barely). In Citizens, Tut has the edge, and it is close w/Ramirez/Cabrera due to the # of BP HRs.

Add the baserunning (which the author does not) and the fact that Ramirez would bat leadoff and get more opportunities, it is a tough decision.

Lets say you get around 6000 PA per year against your pitchers that is 3000 rolls on your cards. There are 6 SSx chances out of 108 chances on a pitchers card. You will roll 166 SSX per year (once per game on average) a 1 e 12 will provide about 150 extra GBA's maybe more may be less a 4 e 27 will allow maybe 30 errors and add another 50 hits against your pitchers and provide only a handful of GBA. I think it is suicide to play a 4 e 27 at short.

Depends a bit on your needs. OCab is my choice due to his significantly better defense, but Tulo can be a good pick. You can try Hanley at ss but the Bank is relatively hard to hit singles in, while being easy to homer. I'd rather have a bunch of guys hitting solo shots personally.

Remember two other factors in OCab vs. Tulo: 1. You'll see more righthanded pitchers, sometimes 3x more, that mitigates Tulo's punch slightly; but 2. OCab has a w versus righties, knocking down some of his big fly potential in a homer park.

for what it is worth trhu 93 games Ramirez has these numbers at ss for me
hr's 18 rbi's 46 .288 avg 28 sb's and only 6 errors
I use Vizquel as a late inning def rep with lead
100mm league so I can afford to do that

Only 6 errors, but have you been checking the daily's to see how many singles have resulted from a gbSS(x) to him?
