'The Naturals' Keeper League Season XII - Using V2 Pricing

Looking at my schedule it seems I don't have any more long road trips - then again no long homestands either. Just finished a short homestand going 6-3. Plus I finally won a series against the Terriers! :)

Well not sure if my monumental collapse is continuing, but that sweep from last night gives me a bit of breathing room - however original mid-season forecasts of 90+ wins were obviously misguided. :x

Another sweep, and 2 nights after I was but 1 game over .500, I am now 7 games over. This team is very streaky it seems!

Another sweep - for 9 wins in a row. After winning 2 of 15, my squad has rallied for 3 consecutive sweeps. Told you it was streaky!

Well my streak stopped at 10 straight wins - darn those Terriers! - but I got another series win. One more and I'll be .500 for the past 30 games which is crazy considering I went on a 2-13 streak.

Specials Make Changes (too little too late?)

Postby doc x » Thu Jul 17, 2008 4:54 pm

The Savoy Specials made some startling changes in a desperate attempt to save their season. Playing below .500, as they have for virtually the whole season, management released 3B Wade Boggs and 1B/LF Stan Musial. This caught Specials fans by surprise as Boggs and Musial were two of the best hitters on a disappointing Specials squad.

Sports reporters were shocked, as well. "I don't want the public to get the wrong idea. Stories are floating around" wrote Max Mercy. Of these latest moves, Mercy said, "You gotta wonder boy. This hit like a bolt of lightning."

Dr. X went out and signed Jackie Robinson and Rickey Henderson to replace the departed hitters. "I should'a done this when I was only six games behind the Eagles. Hopefully we can make up the eleven game deficit starting with the series tonight" Dr. X mused.

Specials' fans were dubious noting that Henderson and Robinson tend to be injury prone. Of Henderson, season ticket holder Harriet Bird muttered, "Sometimes he whines so much you'd think someone shot him" as she sipped a Silver Bullet beer. "Where is the Whammer when you need him?" scoffed Red Blow after hearing of Robinson's signing.

It remains to be seen how these moves will impact the Specials. Will the dark clouds continue for an underperforming team? Or, will lightning strike and change the fortunes of this club?

Well another series win gets us back to .500 for the past 30 games.

I've always been a fan of Musial, so it is a shame he was released, but Boggs can be very frustrating - I hope we get a new Boggs card in ATG IV. :)

What a pitchers duel between Seaver & Bagby/Bedrosian - finally ended in the 10th off of a solo shot by Wheat.

Scarily enough - 8 scoreless innings just lowers Bagbys era to 6.13.
