Yet another 2003 league for me. It has been over 3 years since I've had 3 2003 teams active at the same time.

I'm completely surprised that I was able to draft Larry Walker w/ the Cincinnati GOODGUYS in the league.

The Marquette Avalanche
formerly
the Ninja Black Sox

Yeah L. Walker has a useful card - too bad he is injury prone. I have him on a Shea team in TSN 48361.

Yeah, I'm thinking between R Reyes (not sure if they just made up that guy) and Brian Daubach, I think I'll need to add a decent OF to back up Walker, and Bradley.

I completely forgot about waivers in this league - luckily I was able to make some post-waivers changes that I think should work out well - I have had good success with A. Lopez before, but I do wish I had been able to get Isringhausen or Taverez.

Hello!

Postby gbrookes » Sun Jul 20, 2008 9:41 am

Hi! Nice to make your acquaintances online. I have a 2003 team going as well as a 2007 team going. I am a long-time Strat-O-Matic board game fan, going back to the early 70's. My brother and I used to play together often. We are going to try to get together by playing online using the computer game. This is the first time I have played the fantasy season, other than the trial league that I did (I finished 12-9). I have always been a fan of teams that emphasized defense and pitching (the Mets in the 70's and the Braves in the 80-90's, although I was definitely cheering for Toronto in the 92 world series). You won't know it from the waiver transactions, but my first choice in the waivers was Tejeda (ss), if I am remembering the name right. I was really please to pick up Renteria in the pre-season period. I am excited to try this fantasy game online - looks like lots of fun. Good luck to everyone!!

The board game is still the best - I loved the 1974 set
