[quote:d7f12e8839="watts141"]After numerous offers and talks, Watts and cshannajr finally agree on a deal.

Cshannajr sends Micahel Young/2009 1st round spring prospect pick/ 3rd round 2008 free agent draft pick for watts send 1st round summer 2008 prospect draft pick, 2nd round 2009 spring free agent draft pick and kyle kendrick.

I wanted to lock up a good hitting SS. I feel this has been a down year for short stops for 2008. I feel comfortable with all my hitters now for this year and next. Now with this trade i can concentrate on pitching.[/quote:d7f12e8839]

Just want to clarify the deal for the records guys: This is what I assume it to be:

Watts trades -
Pick #6 in the upcoming prospect pick
2nd round pick in next year's spring main free agent draft
Kyle Kendrick

Cshannajr trades -
1st round pick in next year's first prospect draft
3rd round pick #34 in the current supplemental draft
Michael Young

Is that correct?

moving on?

Well i think i speak for evryone on this. We talked about dedication from Day 1. Now Braycon has had plenty of time to make a pick.

1. He didnt contact anyone since June 17th,
2. He could have emailed picks if he know hed be gone.
3. We had a month notice that the draft would be this week.

Im not trying to get him into trouble, but i would like to start our next season. I think we as a league should vote what to do.

-make a deadline for him then if he doesnt pick.???

pick for him (best available player at one of his needs

Skip him

go on with the draft and let him take whats left over

replace him (dont think its a good idea, but 2 weeks is to long)

just keep waiting and trading to keep the time going by.

I may be acting harsh or just impatient, but like the commish said we needed to be dedicated with this league to make it work. Im having a blast trading and drafting, but dont want to see if fall apart b/c people are bored and lose intrest.

Watts - I'm in full agreement with you.

However, it is Niner's league, and he's gone to Cape Cod this week and will be out of touch. Any call on replacements (we have 2 lined up in case we have to do it, btw) will have to be made by Niners.

That said, I don't see any problem with seeing what the rest of the league thinks about removing Braycon and getting a replacement. You are exactly right about the commitment issue - plus it's just good manners to let people know if you'll be unavailable for any length of time. There's no way to know if Braycon is on vacation, is sick (I hope not) or just bailed on us. And since it's been over a month since anyone's heard from him, I don't think talking about replacing him is premature.

So I say we talk it over amongst ourselves and decide if we want to keep Braycon in the league. Then when Niner's gets back we let him know what our feelings are.

Also, I think that having someone else make a pick for Braycon while we are deciding what to do is not a bad idea. I can find someone to make a proxy pick if you all think that's the right thing to do right now.

i sent Braycon a PM on 6/29 and it looks like he read it, but never replied. first of all, i hope he is o.k. and nothing terrible has occured.

there is no way of knowing, however. i would vote to give him until the Sunday...i know that's an awfully long time. but, if anything bad has happend, i'd hate to replace him if he was unable respond. with that said, if no reply by Sunday...we need to replace him. the commish doesn't get back until monday anyway.

well, that's my two cents.

pick

Postby mwatson392 » Mon Jul 21, 2008 11:58 am

I say we pick for him and then give him until Sunday to repsond. We dont have to replace him, but we can pick for him and move the draft along. If hes not happy then he can make the choice with staying or not.
If we pick for him he can only complain about the player he got.

We should pick for him!
