THE EAST
Given the fact that the Decibels have been unable to win on the road, they will need to win some games at home to have a shot at the division title. The Snubbers are hanging tough and look like a superior team that could win the East. The Emus are hanging tough but are over achievers.
THE CENTRAL
The Braves should win the division. It is a question by how much a margin. The Astros have excellent pitching but a suspect offense could make a difference whether they contend for a playoff berth or not. The Vaders and the Ponderers look weak but both teams will try and play the spolier against any contending team.
THE WEST
As predicted, this is a tough division with little separating opponents who must square off 30 times against each other during the season. The Strawberries are the best team rated in the league. I was wrong in judging their starting pitching. Matt Morris is a stud in 2001? He was avoided like the plague and pitched like the plague until now. The Owsla got off to a slow start but have picked up the pace. This is such a good race. All four teams are over .500. This will go down to the wire. The Mavericks and the Personals can't be counted out either.

You are dead on in how tight & competitive the West is being JKolak!
I hope the WC comes out of our division - and I hope it is me (unless I win the division). Although I know your prediction doesnt have that occuring. :(

The only thing that will stop the Skantown Snubbers from running away with the division is the fact that this team has the worst Coors bullpen I have ever laid eyes on in my 100 2001 leagues. The Snubbers have a solid offense to compensate. Bobby Witt is a 10 and 4 starter!!! Is HAL drunk or what! The Decibels are starting to hit and starting to win at home. Magic Alexx needs a winning streak or else its curtains shortly.

An indication of the tightness of the race is that the Strawberries are ranked 4th in offense and 5th in pitching while the Personals are ranked 5th in offense and 4th in pitching. The big rise for the Personals is the fact that this team wins on the road. The fact that each team has a positive run differential is another indicator that this division really has some quality in it and the race will come down to the wire.

Last in the West is currently better than 2nd in any other division - but that could change since we have more road games remaining than the other divisions.
Meanwhile I have cut C. Izturis - so as to hopefully increase my bullpen strength.

You had posted your initial concerns about the Strawberry pitching prior to the season start. I then made some adjustments, hoping to improve. You see, people do listen to you. Thanks for the insight.

I am starting to think that I am a little too fond of R. Ortiz. I knew he wasnt the best fit but he always seemed to me to be the type of pitcher who can do well in any sort of slugging park, be it Vet, Enron or Coors. However he has really struggled this time around. Nonetheless I don't think he deserved the shelling he got recently! :shock:
