I have a current team carrying a rotation of cheap pitchers, and believe me, some have some eye-popping stats.
Take Waechter (9R, 0.66M) for example. A model of consistency, particularly in his last starts: 5, 8, 6, 8, 3...ER per start. He just won his first game....that was game 72. After 10 starts, he has 17, 14, 16, 38...K, BB, HR, and IP...and not necessarily in this order!!! What a chance that I limited him to 35% vs lhp!!!
Another stunning performance comes from Hennessey. Man, I was so proud to have him, probably the only sub-1M card with no hr on it. He proved my choice was right on the money with his "outstanding" 2.27....whip!!! Definitively better vs lh, as lefties only hit for .356 against him. Still, his 10.40 ERA is better than Waechter, but quite unfortunately, this didn't give him more wins!! :?
Milton is another one who pitched beyond "expectations". Game 73 is up, and he has yielded only 11 HR so far. Has only pitched 48 innings as well, but heck! you can't have it all!
T.Smith is my spot starter. Dominated vs lefty players, with his .319 OAVG and 1:10 hr ratio (1 hr per 10 batters faced). I better keep his stats silent vs rh.
The weirdest thing is...I stand on first place (with a 35-37 record  )
