LET THIS DIE !!!

C'MON< Let's BEAT them Yankees!

I chose the franchises I did because they are all in a row, an era, from 1956 through the sixties, my childhood, and because I wanted to keep American and National Leagues apart and even the National Divisions much as they were then. It's a sixties league ... at least at the start.

At first, I was considering starting with all the oldest franchises...and then drafting from the pre20s the first Saturday, upto 30s the next Saturday, upto 40s, then 50s, 60s, 70s, and finally the 80s just before game 142... maybe that would have been a better choice?

But, the main idea is... a weekly free agent draft... And, can you catch them damn Yankees? In the sixties, the nationals, led by guys like Mays and Gibson, caught the Yankees. And, that's why this league has twice as many National League teams because once there was a time when the National League won almost all the All-Star Games.

Now you got three picks before them damn Yankees, each and every Saturday 'til you catch 'em. With THE NEW AND IMPROVED 21 FAs and two FPs, you'll have an entirely different team by game 142!

Do your three original franchise players all have to come from the team? For example, in the Yanks case, would they all have to come from, say the '27 franchise, or could two come from the '27 team and one from the '39 team?

They should have to come from just one... as some franchises only have one team of FA's to pick from.

I'm assuming I can choose the '73 A's over the other 3 choices and can pick two A's from '29. Let me know if I misinterpreted

that's perfect genegrid, but pittsburgh and the mets only get two franchise players to start. It's 3 Free Agents each Saturday, but 2 Franchise players to start.

Arkinals, I need a little clarification. Are we choosing 2, or 3, players from an earlier franchise? And, from just one, or more? Right now, some of both are occurring. Yours are from TWO earlier franchises, and one of the owners has THREE players from earlier franchises. I am confused, I think. :)

Steps

1. Choose your base team ('57 Braves)
2. Pick 2 players from an associated franchise (Yount and Cooper from '82 Brew Crew)
3. Playball
4. If you suck you get to pick the first three free agents (that will most likely be me)
5. repeat step 4 each week
6. HAVE FUN

Wooohooo let's get started!
