I chose the franchises I did because they are all in a row, an era, from 1956 through the sixties, my childhood, and because I wanted to keep American and National Leagues apart and even the National Divisions much as they were then. It's a sixties league ... at least at the start.
At first, I was considering starting with all the oldest franchises...and then drafting from the pre20s the first Saturday, upto 30s the next Saturday, upto 40s, then 50s, 60s, 70s, and finally the 80s just before game 142... maybe that would have been a better choice?
But, the main idea is... a weekly free agent draft... And, can you catch them damn Yankees? In the sixties, the nationals, led by guys like Mays and Gibson, caught the Yankees. And, that's why this league has twice as many National League teams because once there was a time when the National League won almost all the All-Star Games.
Now you got three picks before them damn Yankees, each and every Saturday 'til you catch 'em. With THE NEW AND IMPROVED 21 FAs and two FPs, you'll have an entirely different team by game 142!
