LET THIS DIE !!!

It's 2 Franchise players from your franchise(s) to start and 3 Free Agents each Saturday... 23 new players by game 142, if you don't run out of money. 8) We'll build a league tommorrow, hopefully.

Then Pittsburgh can't be used, they don't have enough players.

League Question

Postby divad » Fri Feb 03, 2006 2:45 pm

Novie is right about lack of players on some teams. What should we do for teams with less than 23 players? or less than 10 pitchers?

My 64 Cardinals only have 19 (21 with two Franchise players), 2 short. In fact, I have only six pitchers, so Stl will be 4 pitchers short. How's that for advanced scouting for my own team?

71 Pittsburgh at 22 w/2Franchise will come up one short. Actually 1 pitcher short, unless both of the two Franchise guys turn out to be pitchers.

[b:a0f6d88ffb]What shall we do?

Fill out rosters with $.50 Franchise Players![/b:a0f6d88ffb]

I will only have 9 pitchers including Grove but I thought I would fill with .50 SP so he is not used and then replace him the first Saturday.

Cut your own extras!

I went ahead and [b:0bf7a82ba3]set the league rules as , "Fill out rosters shortages with $.50 Franchise Players!"[/b:0bf7a82ba3]

(I did this because I thought it was the minimalist way to solve the roster problem and because I, myself, being short 4 pitchers, was having trouble inventing any other roster fill-up scheme that didn't benefit me the most).

The current rule remains 2 Franchise players to start. It will take [b:0bf7a82ba3]a majority of league members to change a rule.[/b:0bf7a82ba3] Right now, that's five VOTES out of eight.

PROPOSALS PUT TO A VOTE:

THREE FRANCHISE PLAYERS EACH

FOUR FRANCHISE PLAYERS EACH

FILL-UP ROSTERS W/$.99M OR LESS FRANCHISE PLAYERS

FILL-UP ROSTERS W/$3.99M OR LESS FRANCHISE PLAYERS

[b:0bf7a82ba3]WAHOO, KEEP BOTH THOSE FIRST TWO FRANCHISE PLAYERS WE GAVE YA, AND FILL-UP YER ROSTER SHORTAGES W/ ANY FRANCHISE PLAYERS YA WANTA![/b:0bf7a82ba3][i:0bf7a82ba3][/i:0bf7a82ba3] (THIS PROPOSAL HAS ONE VOTE SO FAR)

[i:0bf7a82ba3]If we're gonna catch them damn Yankees, we'd better start at the winter meetings.[/i:0bf7a82ba3] - SUN TSU

Why is everyone so concerned with the Yankees? Sure, they have excellent hitting, but their pitching leaves a lot to be desired. :) As for the rule about how to fill out the rosters, the use of .50 franchise players seems the most useable. Whatever works for the majority is fine by me. [b:134ed5cd6d]On a side note[/b:134ed5cd6d], [i:134ed5cd6d]Arkinals, did you see, over in the original thread, where Denorian had dropped out?[/i:134ed5cd6d] He apparently never caught on that THIS thread was for the same league. It looked to him, apparently, that we still had only three managers. I posted after his post, but don't know that he ever saw it. You may want to try to reach him, if you know how.

If you don't play in any leagues with him, post a PAGE for him on the MB. Maybe he'll respond to it.
