As for 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, the battalion lost ~48 Marines and sailors in a six (6) month tour (April - September 2005) out of ~800 personnel. During that period of time, it suffered probably the highest casualty rate in Iraq.

I didn't serve with the unit during this tour but spent 10 years in it prior to them shipping out in 2005.
