To All - good luck in the second half of the season!!!

Postby gbrookes » Thu Aug 14, 2008 7:42 pm

:) Good luck to all in the second half! Based on the parity in the league, it should be a very exciting playoff run!

In my own division, congratulations to Mel, Arryl T and Mrs. Bramble for a good first half. Special mention goes to Arryl T for ambushing me in my home park recently!! You got me!!

I am looking forward to the rest of the season and many close games and series'!

cruel HAL

Postby ClowntimeIsOver » Wed Aug 20, 2008 7:10 pm

I just got swept by three straight walk-offs. Game 88, 3-2, walk-off single in the 9th. Game 89, 4-3, walk-off WALK (!) in the 9th, Game 90, 6-5, walk-off single in the 12th.

It's especially frustrating because all of my rotation except #1 have sucked, but in this series the starters (#3, 4, and 5) combined for 19 IP, 2.84 ERA, 0.89 WHIP. Should have started the season with one more reliever, I guess.

Had to vent.

1st 48 games, 2nd 48 games

Postby nathanj42 » Fri Aug 22, 2008 3:33 pm

Sorry, the formatting isn't very good. Also, I don't have an accurate on-base % number for the 2nd half, I could have guessed at it. Sacs and HBPs aren't on their spreadsheet.

Ottawa has just been on a tear for awhile.

divisional records for west - UNOFFICIAL

Postby gbrookes » Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:25 am

These compilations are UNOFFICIAL! I had to do this the
hard way, and it is subject to my own human error.
Marquette, Ottawa and Carswell, please correct any known
errors.

I sent this email to everyone because I wasn't sure how to
send it only to my western division counterparts.

Unofficially, the Marquette Avalanche appears to have the
best divisional record to date, at 38-31, followed by the
Ottawa Excaliburs and Winnipeg Goldeyes, both at 35-34.
The Carswell Telecasters are 30-39.

My compilation of the western division records against
each other is as follows:

Excaliburs vs.

Goldeyes 12-12
Avalanche 13-11
Telecasters 10-11

Goldeyes vs.

Excaliburs 12-12
Avalanche 9-12
Telecasters 14-10

Avalanche vs.

Excaliburs 11-13
Goldeyes 12-9
Telecasters 15-9

Telecasters vs.

Excaliburs 11-10
Goldeyes 10-14
Avalanche 9-15

Down to the last game of the season? Game on!!

Made the playoffs on the last night of the season, despite that 12-24 start, and then forced a 5th game & won it after being down 0-2 in the series. Lets see if this squad has enough determination to win the World Series! :)

[b:5d88d198bb]Team Awards:[/b:5d88d198bb]

MVP - Bret Boone

Started off slow, but once he got going, so did my team. Finished 2nd best for Runs scored, RBI & HR.

CY Young - John Riedling

Led rotation in Wins, ERA & WHIP

Rolaids Relief - Aquilino Lopez

Had several solid relief performances - Lopez gets the nod due to Sv %.

Pleasant Surprise - Alex Gonzalez

Slugged over 100 points higher than card.

Disappointing Performance - Tike Redman

Not a really bad effort, but would definitely have liked more production.

Playoff MVP - Tike Redman

Guess he was saving himself for the playoffs.

Playoff CY Young - Guillermo Mota

Very solid effort - almost led team in IP. Did lead team in ERA for pitchers over 10 IP.

Rolaids Relief - Rick Bauer

Limited IP but very nice performance

Playoff Surprise - Tike Redman

Certainly wasnt expecting him to almost hit .400 or slug over .600

Playoff Disappointment - Bret Boone

3 HR & 8 RBI not withstanding, was still pretty invisible.
