It's a deal, IM. I've sent you the Valle for Newman offer for you to accept. And I'll have your 4th rounder, in the 86 draft.

Well that was a rather uneventful waiver wire.
Looks as though everyone simply made minor adjustments to their roster. Bring on the season boys.

look a little closer at those waiver moves, IMB --- YOunt Fan snatched up Browning, probably the biggest move on the wire. That gives him 5 count em 5 top notch *SP's to start the season with .. to go with a good lookin' bullpen, nice defense, potent offense, and some speed to boot.

watch out in the east -- that sneaky devil YountFan worked his majic again.

Who the heck picked Browning in the draft and left him unprotected?

Browing joins BFDs

Postby YountFan » Sat Feb 04, 2006 6:23 pm

Amazing (YF) - The Amazing BFDs announced the signing of free agent pitcher Tom Browning to a 5 year contract. "I had to sign Browning now because a) we won't last long on FA wire once the season starts, and b) it is Burns last year and it is never to soon to look to the future." said team owner and manager YountFan. "I hope I can bring the flag back to Amazing in 1985, but every team got better during the off season, so I'll take it as it goes."

The season starts Monday night.with the BFDs hosting Mav's Struggling Bums at Riverfront.

I was unable to get Browning to fit under the cap with the two extra guys we have to pick in the draft, and I couldn't take him over Hammaker because HAL insisted I have 5 relief pitchers. Was hoping to sneak him back on board during the waiver wire, but YF got to him the pick before me.

Truth be told I thought he might be on the wire when you tried to trade him. And in fact after the draft was run it was the first thing I looked for after I verified I got my guys. Maybe I can trade him to you Paul Molitor.

Yes, I guess that was a rather obvious tell on my part, but once I realized that I could not get him on the roster, I thought I would try and work a two for one upgrade. Truth be told, I was wrestling with keeping him over Hough, but Uncle Charlie has just won 20 games for me and it seems like most teams are stonger against LHP. After waivers, I noticed that Dave Stewart was still on the board and when compared with Hough, I decided to roll the dice.
