[b:3dc081e5ad]Team Awards:[/b:3dc081e5ad]
MVP - Todd Pratt
I was tempted to go with Trot Nixon or Pedro Feliz, but Pratt was excellent as a table setter. Led the team in OBP, BB and Doubles and was 2nd in Runs Scored. Without players like Pratt as table setters, players like Feliz couldnt drive in 126 RBI. ;)
CY Young - Miguel Batista
2nd Best W/L Record on the staff to go with best ERA/WHIP
Rolaids Relief - Rick Bauer
How Bauer does not get some sort of Relief recognition is beyond me because no way I make the playoffs if Bauer didnt go 12-1 with a 3.59 ERA in 175 IP.
Pleasant Surprise - Pedro Feliz
Ya think! ;) I was hoping for 35-40 HR and 90-100 RBI!
Disappointing Performance - Jose Guillen
Not for the stats produced ... just because he missed 41 games. Had he played 156 games like Feliz, he would probably have had 120 runs, 50 HR & 140 RBI. So just disappointing in the sense of knowing what a season he could have had had he had Feliz's luck with the injury roll.
Playoff MVP - Pedro Feliz
Well apparently he was just warming up during the season - because Feliz drove in more runs than the Utopians combined as a team! He slugged 9 HR in 9 games and had a monstrous 1.324 SLG %.
Playoff CY Young - Rich Harden
Although Harden only pitched 1 game - it was a very key Game V of the World Series and he kept us in it until the bats started to erupt in the 6th.
Playoff Relief - Eric Gagne
1 Win, 3 Saves & 17 K with a 1.08 ERA / .72 WHIP in about 9 innings of work.
Playoff Surprise - Corey Patterson
Corey Patterson did his best Pedro Feliz impersonation - slugging 5 HR and driving in 13 RBI - 2nd only to Feliz in the playoffs!
Playoff Disappointment - Corey Koskie
Very reliable during the regular season, Koskie disappeared at times during the Playoffs. Luckily pretty much everyone else had the playoffs of their life as team averaged: 307 .635 .372
