All I can say, is that there won't be too many dull games with my team this year with all of the $$ on my hitters and not as much on the pitchers.

Should be some very strong line-ups. One question on the team name, I believe someone suggested early on that the city name be from the team you pick your stadium from while the nickname would be from your second team. So with me having the St.Louis Cardinals and New York Mets, I'd be St.Louis Mets (if I go with Busch Stadium) or New York Cardinals (if I go with Shea Stadium). Is this the way I should be planning it? The interesting one here is Rant's Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers. :D

Yeah, if I decide to go with US Cellular Field, I think I'll name myself Chicago (AL) Braves or ChiSox Braves or something like that just so it's even easier for people to see which park I'm playing in. Something for NY, LA, and Chicago people to think about.

Just a note to doctrcpa and others, don't think that your team is set after the team and FA draft. I'm sure that there will be quite a few players available through trades, so I'm hoping for an active trade market during the pre-season. That being said, let's make sure we finish the draft and load teams by the weekend so we will have a whole week of preseason rather than just a day or two. I think it's imperative to have a good chunk of time to sort out your team in this kind of a league.

Also, commish, how were you planning to have people load their teams? I think the league should be set up as a private, password-protected league with no waivers, and give only the East division guys the password. Once those four teams are loaded, then the last guy gives the password to the four Central teams, and then eventually the same thing for the West. That way we're all guaranteed to be in the right division.

As far as the team names, I just want to make sure that the its apparant who your 2 teams are.....I'm game with using the city consistent with my park, but I still intend to include both the Padres and Orioles into the "nickname"

When we load, we will set it up as a private league, East first and so on with the password sent to the divisional as they come up.

I agree with AeroDave.....lets target a league start date of 9/22 and try and get the whole thing loaded by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

We should be good to meet that.......we have been moving with a strong pace the past couple of days.

Not to go too deep into name discussions, but if you are going to have both names, maybe the city name isn't that important. Maybe we just put the home field nickname first then the second team nickname, with a '/' between them - sort of like in this thread. IE> Cardinals / Mets

I liked the first idea of naming the city after which stadium you were using, and have already done so by the way... I am the New York Rays. Names don't matter all that much, there's always at least one maverick in most leagues who just can't bear to give his team a "generic" name like that. Here's hoping to buck the trend.
