TripleFreeAgentSaturdays - LEAGUE FULL !

Postby divad » Tue Feb 07, 2006 12:28 pm

All these franchises are in a row, from an era, from the Yankee dominated 1950s into the revolutionary 60s. When, the national league, led by guys like Mays and Gibson, caught the Yankees. Yes, there was a time the Nationals won all the All Star games. At our season's start, the Yankees will have Ruth, Mantle Gehrig, Berra, & McDougal. [b:a6551a618d]Can you craft a team using "triple free agent Saturdays" that will catch them damn Yankees?[/b:a6551a618d]

START OF SEASON ROSTERS RESTRICTED TO PLAYERS ON 1950s-1960s (70s) TEAMS specified (below) EXCEPT FOR TWO ADDED PLAYERS FROM SAME FRANCHISE (DIFFERENT YEAR(S)). Fill out rosters shortages with $.99m or less Franchise Players! PARKS RESTRICTED TO TEAM/YEAR SPECIFIED! Name your team just as it is (excluding year). Trades are allowed, but no other roster changes outside "Free Agent Saturday". The TWINS papa franchise is the 1924 Washington Senators. Since the Braves have no real Franchise kin, let's match them with the Milwaukee Brewers.

TRIPLE FREE AGENT SATURDAYS: Team w/worst W-L record on each Saturday Morning drafts three free agents by 3PM ET. Each successive team's Free Agent picks are due 30 minutes later. Three Free Agents for the 4 bottom dwelling teams, two for the mid-level teams, and only one for the top four. [i:a6551a618d](Draft Order Tie Breakers: most GB in Div., worst run scored differential, most home loses, and alphabetical ("A" first) by mascot (i.e. Athletics, Braves, Cardinals, Cubs...).[/i:a6551a618d]

[b]* TYPE NAME BY TEAM TO JOIN LEAGUE: (+ 2 Franchise Players)

EAST
56 New York Yankees - Modmark - + Gehrig + Ruth

All these franchises are in a row, from an era, from Yankee dominated 1956 into the revolutionary 60s. When, the national league, led by guys like Mays and Gibson, caught the Yankees. At our season's start, the Yankees will have Ruth, Mantle & Gehrig. Can you craft a team using "triple free agent Saturdays" that will catch them damn Yankees?

START OF SEASON ROSTERS RESTRICTED TO PLAYERS ON TEAMS specified (below) EXCEPT FOR TWO ADDED PLAYERS FROM SAME FRANCHISE (DIFFERENT YEAR(S)). Fill out rosters shortages with $.50 Franchise Players!

EACH SATURDAY after season starts, each team may sign THREE free agents: Team w/worst W-L record on Saturay Morning drafts first three free agents by 3PM ET. Each successive team's 3 Free Agent picks are due 30 minutes later. (Draft Order Tie Breakers: most GB in Div., worst run scored differential, most home loses, and alphabetical ("A" first) by mascot.

This means, added to your original team, will be two FRANCHISE PLAYERS and 21 FREE AGENTS by game 142, if you don't run out of money.

There was some discussion of staggering the number of free agents a team drafted on Saturdays: three FAs for the 4 bottom dwelling teams, two for the mid-level teams, and only one for the top four. Currently (neededing a majority of members to pass this proposal), we would need five VOTES:

1 - Arkinals
2 - Modmark - "Sounds like a logical plan"
3 - franks1313 - "...does sound good."

As a newcomer to this theme, I have a couple of questions. I was looking for the old thread but couldn't find it so I apologize if the answers are there and I didn't see them.

What is the cap? DH? and Will the FA be available from all teams? For instance if I don't choose Hubbell as one of my two added players from the other Giants teams, will he be available to anyone on the first free agent Sat?

$200m NoDH FRENZY

If you don't take him as one of your two Franchise Players, he's available to everyone as a free agent.
