I realize that I've already voted, and I'm willing to go along with the majority here. I don't believe that anyone would throw games on purpose-- it's also hard to do when a computer is simulating the action.
But there could be a freak first week where one of the weaker teams starts strong and one of the stronger teams stumbles. What is the chance of this? How often does this happen? And does this matter? Maybe our preconceptions are off given the composition of the teams and of the league? Would the good weeks and bad weeks even out over the course of the season? Wouldn't there be enough free agents out there to go around?
These are the questions I have. Has anyone played a league like this before? Do we need to make special provisions for slow-starting teams or will it all even out in the end?
Bottom line for me is it's an interesting concept and I too am intrigued by the challenge of building a team through free agency and a $200,000,000 pile of cash.
