Does Anyone else suck as bad as me????

I have found that I should stop trying different ballparks and only play the one I'm good at ! Baker ! Just about every team I've put there is in the hunt .

It's great when you find a park or parks that you like and that you do well in. I feel that way about nuetral parks. I feel comfortable and confident when I am in Westside, Sportsman 46 and I do like Griffith now that I have played there a few times. If I had to pick areas of improvement, it would have to be playing with power teams but than I probably won't veture there too often. If I have a credit, I will use it in a nuetral park or Griffith 99 out of 100 times. I am rambling, but.....I would like to try a power team and make it to the playoffs one time.

this post is DEpressing!! how many people out there have 'tuned in' hoping that their hopeless won-loss-percentage wasn't as bad as they thought only to realise 'boy do I SUCK at this game'!!! a pick-me-up for some of you who've actually posted; just look at the atg manager ratings. personally, it's getting harder to find that satisfying 'phew, someone who is actually worse than me'. i'm embarrassingly bad at this game but still love it. i guess that counts for something.

In 6 weeks or so, recruiting will begin for Ring Fling V.

To see who is the best amongst the suckiest

That means one less Ringless Wonder :D

Danny, I'm a lawyer. My whole purpose in life is to depress people.

I have had some good teams, and I have had some really stinky teams, and right now I am barely scrapping by at .500 ball. I realize that there are managers out there who are not at .500. I think Nevdully's and Dean's message resonate - "no matter how good you really are, we all suck at this game at some point". Everytime I think I have this game figured out and I am only going to have successful teams, HAL gives his evil scientist laugh, wrings his hands, and my sure-fire team loses 90+ games.

I honestly don't know why I keep playing, except for the addiction that this next team will be the one to bring me a ring, positively, absolutely (at least until the draft is concluded and I realize that I have a crappy team again). :D

At least you're not Goldwater64. He only has 1 playoff appearance in 19 teams with 0 rings.

I haven't really seen Frank Bailey suck yet. I don't always think his teams are that good but he wins...

I've sucked for the past two months. But the last two nights I'm plus 59. That's the way things used to be. Hopefully it's a harbinger of things to come.

For the love of the game....my Friends

Postby RONALDDOBBS » Thu Feb 09, 2006 6:59 pm

....and you too, Petrosian. I got into this ATG2 for that reason. "The Love of the game". Hell, guys, I don`t have spreadsheets, stat sheets, dirty sheets. I have went to Diamond Dope twice in putting 19 or 20 teams together. I maintain a 80mil salary and try different strategies, different players, just having fun. My world does not "rotate" around this game. I like to play it and will continue to do so. Also enjoy the "banter" on the boards. Keep the faith, my friends. Oops, You too, Petrosian.

I, too, belong here in the land of misfit ATG owners. Lifetime .460 winning percentage.

The thing that really chaps my backside is that in every league I join I end up in the same division as Frank Bailey and he routinely kicks my butt.

Not since I took up golf have I gotten this much aggravation for $24.95.
