Sorry guys, but I was at least upfront about it.... the stagger rule is ridiculous. It is tough enough that that team #1 will draft FA's 34-36, but now they will only get one and it will be FA 24.
Tell me how fair it is to get #'s 21, 22, 23, or 24 when you may only be 3-4 games ahead of teams getting 3 FA's? Especially when[b:509bf1a864] there will still be 141 games to play. [/b:509bf1a864]Think how it could break down after say 63 games... some teams could have 9 new FA's to others w/ 3... now start to consider the amount of salary differential.... in this 200M cap league. If the Yankees are smart, they will try to lose every game possible in week one and then add three stud SP's to go with the Ford and the $43M they have in Gerhig, Mantle and Ruth (not too mention Berra and McDougald). I'd spot anyone 10 games with 141 to go with that team and still win it [b:509bf1a864]ALL![/b:509bf1a864] Give me 90M in 9 players anyday!
Round 1 of FA's could be 3FB, Camnitz, Pfeister or Foxx or Brett compared to the last 4 choosing a 7M pitcher or a 5-6M hitter... where exactly is the fairness or competitiveness in that? :?
Not to mention the fact that the rules were laid out and now a simple majority can change them... poor league management imho.
