ATG III-Coming this Summer-Suggestion thread

Can you say, individual game (per game) controls, would really help in regards to stealing, if you face a +4 one game and a -3 the next it makes a huge difference on your steal settings. Should be a simple adjustment And dump 6-7 teams and add 6-7 more. :D

Needs a serious overhaul

Postby The Last Druid » Thu Feb 09, 2006 11:40 pm

1. List the owners name rather than the managers so when we view archived teams we know what other managers were in the league.

2. BOXSCORES SUCK as they are presently set up. [b:c7894aceb6]I would so prefer that each die roll is listed rather than pitch count[/b:c7894aceb6]. I know that pitch count is relevant in the computer version but not to us, only to Hal in making pitching changes. So why list it. That one feature (showing die rolls) would make the game so much more enjoyable. If that won't happen then at least list what fielders balls are hit to instead of the ubiquitous batter out. I want to be able to see my defense in action and to be clear for example, just how outfield arms impact results.

3. In general [b:c7894aceb6]I want more transparency[/b:c7894aceb6]. For example, HAL has ballpark double effects but we don't know what they are. List each ballparks effects, not just singles and homeruns. I want to make intelligent decisions, not blind guesses.

4. In the same vein, I want to know what the ranges are for aggressive baserunning for example i.e. is very aggressive a green light on 1-8 throws or what.

5. Individual game settings, not just for three game series. This allows tweaking lineups to match up against individual pitchers, just like you can in real strat.

6. A better database that doesn't delete all our old boxscores.

7. The rankings. 50 for a vet championship vs 20 for a TSN championship is way off. Maybe 50 and 35 would be more accurate.

8. Infinitely customizable salary caps. Keep the standard auto leagues as they are but allow the creators of leagues more options. I'd like to play 75 or 85 million leagues sometimes. Why not give us the option to do so?

9. Change the playoff format. Let the team with the best record play the team with the worst record, not automatically the wild card.

I have lots more ideas regarding the player pool but need more time to think about them.

Dice Rolls

Postby Toyboys » Fri Feb 10, 2006 12:10 am

1. If we only added the dice rolls, this game would be greatly enhanced. I agree with Petrosian. I do not need the pitch count. I want to know what generated that Whiff with th bases loaded.

2. Keep the X ratings by feilder. IE; How many great plays does Ozzie really make? All we have now is errors. We do not know how many times an X play is converted to an out or how many times the ball scoots underneath a glove for a single*

I've said it before as well as others...

1) I would love to see individual game adjustments (Example: Heavy steal in games 1 and 2 but not in 3)

2) Know exactly what HAL is doing. Die rolls, know the double/triple effects,

3) Does steal more work? We should have the option to steal at all times. And it should work. If Wills gets on base he's going. That would make for a fun base stealing league.

4) More teams = More cards but leave them all in until the draft. Kind of like the 80's but you know which one you picked. Maybe a cheaper Ruth card. If two people pick Ruth in the first round the tie breaker will decide who gets Ruth and it's which ever year that manager picked. If he drops him he stays that year because that was what was drafted. If Mantle goes undrafted all his years stay available until picked up but which ever year is chosen then that's the year for the rest of the season. It would make for a more interesting draft. (Every year would have a different price. One year maybe the guy is worth .5 mil maybe the next he's 13 mil.)

5) Shoot HAL! and hire his brother. HAL needs to think before he acts. As managers of teams HAL should be forced to do what we say.

6) We should be able to play any player at any position. You can on the cd rom game or board game. Shoot HAL will even do it because he likes it. But we can't. This would make for a very interesting theme league. An all offensive league where everyone has to play out of position. Ruth at Catcher, Campy in center field. Imagine the possibilities!!!!

You're not going to get more transparency. TSN only has the ability to bring us what is already in the PC version of the game. Really all we are playing is the PC version of SOM with a front end web platform. So you can forget about seeing Ballpark double/triple effects, Baserunning effects, dice rolls on boxscores, etc. There are a lot of features in the PC version that are black box programming.

As for the player wish lists, they are all on Fantasim! :P

My #1 wish, by far, is an improvement on how HAL handles our BP guys. I can live with anything/everything else. BUT, I am so sick of seeing a guy like Sambito brought in to face 3 or 4 RH batters, while a RH RP that is rested sits in my pen, watching the carnage. This is repeated every night, for everyone. There's GOT to be a way to tweak the game engine to get HAL to use the pen correctly. Other than that, I love the game. Whatever else new players/teams/features you end up adding, I will love them, IF you fix HAL's pen brain! :)
