I am in the preseason right now with a team in Olympic Stadium. My 4 man rotation consists of Steve Rogers, Jerry Reuss, Bryn Smith & Mark Gubicza. Do you like any of the below FA better than Gubicza? Thanks

Candiotti
Bosio
Burns
Hough
Darling
Z. Smith
Wegman
Show
Viola
Bannister
Witt
Petry
B. Forsch

P.S. - This is a no-DH league

hmmmm....

You're prolly better off giving up Henke to the Infernos for that coke head Howe...

You know I'm a newbie in the 80's game, so take this info FWIW...

I kinda prefer either Candiotti OR Bosio over Guby.

Burns

I like Burns the best from that group. He gives you a second lefty, has mostly good years, a good K rate, and can be shifted to the pen if you happen to stumble on someone better.

If you get the right card on Mike Witt he can be really good. I've never been a Gubicza fan. He gets dropped quite often.

If you get just about anbody's good year you are set, but I wouldnt depend on it. Half the list is better than Gubz, but I agree that Burns is the best of the lot. If he is already taken, Bosio.

I would rank Wegman and Bannister the next best (after Burns and Bosio) but those two will probably be available in the first quarter as replacements. In general, lefties are alot more valuable than righties.

Bannister

Forgot about this guy. He can be an excellent choice, if you're in a pitcher's park. He's something of a Tanana, with higher K rate. He's cheaper than Burns (that's the one thing about Burns -- he's overpriced).

OK Thanks guys. I dropped Gubicza for Burns. If anybody else has thoughts on my pitching or other players on my team let me know as I have all weekend to play around with the roster.

NO DH league.

I think you can afford to go cheaper with a 4th SP. B. Forsch would be fine. You have a good pen, you want them to pitch. I would save the cash. R. Miller.....I didnt know he was in the cards..........there must be someone better.
