Add 1968 Bob Gibson 1.12

Delete all teams and players after Canseco made it to the majors. That should eliminate most of the steroid homers.

In regards to new teams I would like to see more record setters in some areas. Give me the season Cobb hit 424. Give me Brock's 118 SB and Hendersons 130.

I really like the idea of a ringers team. A set of 30 or so players to catch some of the record setting years as above who do not get in the set due to that team/year not being in the set. Then we would not have to choose between the 68 Gibson and the 74 Brock that gives us the 118 SB. That team offers little else of interest but boy would having that option in LF be fun.

I would also put in a vote for 50 new teams to replace the old ones. Although I know I will love whatever they do.

Just a note counseling patience. They begin teasing us about ATG2 sometime in late winter of 04, and it didn't come out until mid-August of 04. If they follow a similar timetable, we could be looking at 6 months or so before we see ATG3. 8)

Like the idea Of JR Richard Cedeno would come with that team and Watson and maybe a better Cruz and Puhl Go with the 80 team Ryan also but would love to see Ryan,s big year with Angels and fully agree need 68 Cardinals and that 73 Braves team Astro option would be 72 with May Wynn Reuss etc and Nap Lajoie Cardinal team with Sherdel P and Chesbros 40 wins Bottomly and once again the 62 Mets I want Throneberry on my bench He wasn't as bad as they say he was and Big Frank Thomas and love to see what HAL would do with Vinegar Bend Mizell and a Dodger team with Maglie Yeah probably 50 new teams :x :? :) :?:

I very much needed change would be in the injury chart being used. Just a couple recent injuries shows the need. Cepeda plays in 162 games in 1962 and because there is a playoff game he gets injured for 3 games + game injurey took place. Felipe Alou playes in 154 games and gets injured for 13 games.

I would think that some caveats could be added such as limiting games to the max to games lost in real life. At the least widen the ab total for game onlyinjuries.

I'd like to see a team or two included from the old Federal League, like the Chicago Whales. 3FB played for this team in 1915.

Many of the things on my wish list have already been mentioned:

- Die rolls rather than pitch counts. I want to know if my stud pitcher got beat because of his card, or because all the rolls fell to the hitters.

- Better explanation of what the manager settings and card settings actually mean. Playing this game should be about building the best team and tweaking it just right, not trying to figure out what pushes Hal's buttons.

- More control of in-game decisions, including the use of the bullpen, when to steal or pinch hit, and when to intentionally walk a batter. I like the idea of individual game settings vs 3-game series settings as well.

- More stats. Home and away statistics for the individual players would be nice.

The ideas that I haven't heard mentioned are:

- A better autodraft mechanism. While I'm not looking for the flexibility of a live draft, something with a bit more intelligence would be nice. Perhaps something where we rank players by position, and then draft by position, so that if we do not get our first choice at SP or CF, we get our second, and not instead Ed Reulbach or Earl Combs?

- The ability to change ballpark after the draft. I realize this isn't realistic, but neither is getting stuck with a team that is ill-suited for your home ballpark because the autodraft decided that you lost all the tie breakers.

- Trading flexibility! My favorite part of SOM is the draft & waiver period, simply because of all the options I have to get different players and broker deals. As soon as the season starts, I'm thinking about my next team, because trading in SOM is nearly non-existent. I don't know how to solve this problem (perhaps additional cap space at the start of the season that shrinks until the trading deadline?), but the lack of trading might be my personal biggest pet peeve with the game.
