The Obsession with Petco - 12 step program needed?

Postby bleacher_creature » Fri Feb 10, 2006 7:02 pm

Maybe we can start a 12 step program for this obsession with Petco teams? I understand the desire for pitching to do well, but this crap is out of control man.

What can we do?

As of now this is officially the thread for those in need of help with their addiction/obsession with Petco teams.

I mean, doesn't it get old after awhile? Can't you be a little more G-D creative people?

Many will chime in saying, "we paid our $25, we can do what we want" etc... These people are not ready for help.

My thing with Petco is I got to the finals with one team and now I want to get back there and win the title. I like how I can shut down teams that come in. Just last night I actually got a no-hitter...vs. Abreu and Berkman by the way. 8)

I feel the same way as you, only about Coors. Why do people keep going with Coors?

I love looking at the stats and seeing my 20 M staff have a 1.25 whip while the team with Randy and all the studs has a 1.23.

redsox...I don't know enough about this game to win in the middle of the road parks I think. Maybe I will try one on my next game but I doubt I'll do well.

I'm surprised we don't see Yankee Stadium, Pac Bell (my new name for it since they keep changing it), and Network Associates (Oakland) more.

Especially Oakland. It is neutral for HRs, and favors LHBs for hits. Seems like a totally workable combo. My next park.

Thanks Aray...I think I'll give Montreal a shot when the new game comes out. I may try Coors and Fenway and I will definitely try Petco again for the challenge. 8) But maybe only if I get any credits. haha Thanks again.

Montreal----and the TWO teams I tried there SUCKED even more than my usual teams! I will not play there again, I would like to see a winning team there---just so I can learn!

ask and you shall recieve. It is easier to put together a team in a neutral park, have to think more for the extreme parks.
This team did ok, wild card in a very competitive decision (2 mgr with ratings over 2000). Made it to finals and lost after mike gonzo went down with a 3 game injury that could not be overcome. I wouldn't set this as a standard pitching team though, everyone in my division was weak against LHP as well as 2 other teams in the leauge so i had more cheap LHP then I would rec. to carry.
