Does this game bring back any memories for my fellow middle age peers?

Oh the Memories!!!!

Awesome Game!!! Or so we thought anyway. I have been looking for one to pick up at a yardsale the past year hoping to show my youngest boy about how we played the game before all these new-fangled high tech games.

I remember taking model car paint and re-painting the teams we had to other NFL teams, but I never could complete a pass with that goofy looking QB/K or whatever it was.

What I remember is that the electric motor would always die out, so we would end up tapping the table to make the players move. Loads of fun.

What I remember is thinking up complex plays, but end up watching your little man with the felt ball or the man chasing him just vibrate in a circle or into the wall.

I actually remember a scene in the movie Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey where the vibrating football game was one of the challenges to the Grim Reaper to get their life back. Death had already lost at Twister, Clue and something else (should have chosen the ironic selection of Life if you ask me). He's down 3-0 and just watching one of his players just vibrating in a circle. He gets upset and just backhands the players off the board.  8)

My running back always ended up getting turned around, doing a Jim Marshall for 70 yards or so.

But the worst was when they added the QB with the spring action arm. Does anyone remember that?

I also remember having fun with the little hand held electronic football. Thats the one where the guy with the ball was a flashing green dash and you would try to move him across the screen and through the defense. If you were able to do so you reappeared on the opposite side of the screen and had to run through them again until tackled!

Paydirt! was a dice football game that was a lot of fun too.

I always liked turning up the vibration to maximum and then watching both teams crash into each other like they were all on amphetamines.
