I don't think we should be voting. The rules should be dictated by the person who's turn it is. Unfortunately, that person decided to change his mind. I don't want to be a boat-rocker; I just think that if you make a rule, and then someone asks for clarification and you repeat your answer, that should be end of it.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. Hopefully at least one person sees where I'm coming from.

It looks like we have a little time and people should be checking back here periodically, so I'd like to get people's opinions on seasons 10/15/16. These are the seasons that no one is assigned to choose a rule or a salary cap. We could:

1. Play those 3 seasons under the basic rules with no modification (ie you have access to any player that ever played for your franchise).

2. Vote on each of the previous rules and repeat one.

3. Nominate new rules or modifications of old rules and vote on those. For instance, I really like the season 3 rule, but I think you could add a little extra strategy if you got to make a player off limits for one of the teams in your own division.

We haven't even gotten everything straightened out for season [u:8ffaf3323a]3[/u:8ffaf3323a], so how about if we hold off on season [u:8ffaf3323a]10[/u:8ffaf3323a] for now?

Buster's right, it's andy's call, no vote. It's pretty embarrassing when you're proven wrong with your own words. Besides, it's a good rule and it's going to make for a fun season either way.

OK. I was just looking to generate some banter while waiting for the results of the vote on the current issue. Looks like the vote's off so...

 I feel like Bud Selig

Fortunately, (or unfortunately) I'm ok with this however it turns out. It sounds like Dave and Buster now both object to changing the rule. Is that right?

To avoid this problem in the future:

1. The manager who sets the cap / DH / waiver format can change his/her mind UNTIL the second manager has set the rule and divisions.

2. The manager who sets the rule / divisions can modify the rule / divisions up to the point when the first action on the rules has been taken. In this case, once the first manager announced a franchise player, the rule AND divisions could no longer be changed.
- or -
If the divisions were to be set by pick 3 numbers, once those numbers were run the divisions AND the rule could no longer be changed.
- or -
If the rule leads straight to the autodraft, once the first manager has entered the league the rule AND divisions can no longer be changed.

Of course, if the rule is incomplete or has an obvious and indisputable flaw in its logic, then it must be completed or amended. The manager who set the rule for that season will be solely responsible for completing or amending the rule.

OK, i'm on a business trip and haven't had a lot of time to think about the intricacies of my rule, so here goes: On second thought, I think it will help keep the integrity of the franchises to give the manager first shot at their carded players, so I will agree with AeroDave and say that the draft will be for carded players only, then after waivers all players that played for your franchise are fair game.
I'm sorry for any confusion..........
