Good News Boyos!

Last night, thanks to some lucky rolls and the best of luck coming my way via Charlie's positive thinking my other (next to last 05) team got through a major hurdle in the semis. Won game 1&2 vs Randy Johnson and Johan "Sebastian" Santana

Managed to score 4 runs against RJ and 6 vs JS. Hopefully I can close the series tonight because I rrrreeeaaalllyyy don't want to face RJ again in game 5.

Thanks for the good vibes Charlie!!!

I guess it's time to answer the trivia Q: The OST we were refering to is: "One From The Heart". IMO it's the cusp of pre-rain dogs trilogy Tom Waits. Perhaps the most melodic and "sentimental" of his early stuff. Really nice. If any of you is in that Napster stuff that lets you listen to tracks unlimited per month you should check it out.

Congrats on the climb in the charts Big! Hope you don't mind but I assigned a "homework" in one of my classes for extra points: the students had to choose one of your songs and plot the stage lighting for a 99 seat theatre musical version that features the song of their choice. The setting is that it is a solo and the stage plot we used was the same as used in the recent european production of Alice (in wonderland -with music and lyrics by Tom Waits) ... interesting stuff and analysis the students came up with up with.

Anyhoo, better run now, my scheduled sacrifice for HAL's altar is coming up.

Wow! I'd love to see what your students came up with. :)

I would love to create music for film. Anyone need a soundtrack?

No prob Big. The rendered images, which is what I base 75% of their evaluation are part of a WYSIWYG program we use or designing and training, I'll ask the kids to extract some images onto JPGs so as for me to send you some visuals. They are also asked to write a brief description of their interpretation. The descriptions are all on Word format so I'll send you some bits. I'll gather the files an end you some stuff via PM.

BTW Charle, really enjoying Ender's Game. It took me a while to start with all the new years festivities and getting ready for classes but I startd it over the weekend. I am up to the point where Ender gets promoted in the academy, something like page 70 or so...cool stuff, thanks for recommending it :D

Yeepee :!: :!: :!:

Going to the final dance :D

Swept the semis...very, very, VERY lucky to do so against a pretty good team.

Now I am up against a team that I don't match up against all that well...at least I'm not facing RJ and Santana off the bat...instead it's more like Ben Sheets and Doug Davis...wish me luck boyos!

BTW Rob, you remember that during Rooks101 I asked some of the guys in the league for some advise regarding a two franchise themed league? Well, you helped me out and here I am heading to the final frontier...Thanks Robo 8) :!:

Tyber, I'll drink with you. The sweep last night pulled me back a couple steps from the edge of the cliff.

Holy Land of Paradise! What does a team have to do to beat these guys? And really, what the heck is a Beulah? The Beulahs extended their winning streak to 8 games by grinding the LeatherKnockers (LK) into the dirt last night. Can't remember the last time a team of mine was beaten so soundly in every aspect of the game. Here is the quick run down:
Game #1: LK actually led this game 6-1 after 7 innings, but the Beulahs were just playing with us. They then bludgeoned my bullpen into submission and shut down my offense, winning 7-6 and outhitting LK 16 to 9. The Beulahs also sent catcher cota to the showers with a 2 game injury for good measure.
Game #2: LK led 5-4 after 7 innings. Again, the Beulahs then made mincemeat of my bullpen, winning easily 8-5 and out hitting LK 11 to 8. Not only that, they decided to go for the jugular - Gload, Perez, and Hollandsworth all went down with injuries. Those Beulahs guys are brutal!
Game #3: The LK offense, despite 4 starters on the injured list, raised the ante in the final game, scoring 9 runs and banging out 15 hits. We weren't even close, as the Beulahs raised the ante and trumped us 15-9 with 18 hits.
Google defines "beulah" as a "pastoral earthly paradise." Wow, can my team have some of that? Or does Beulahs refer to that indie band from the 1990s? Perhaps the music coming from the Beulahs dugout was "Shotgun Dedication", or maybe "Landslide Baby" from the band? Surely felt like that on the other side of the field. Only T-rich knows. But you have one heck of a team. :D

Open season.

Phanatics are offering a case of beer to any team that can sweep the Beulah's. If you can get a 15 game injury on one of their players we'll double that. :D

There is a PS to last night's games as well. WARNING, HAL rant coming.

With 4 starters out (rf, 2b, 1b, and c) this is what HAL did to LK defensively:
Dejesus is my cf (2 rating), but HAL moved him to rf so pena (who can play rf), could play cf instead with his 4 rating. HAL puts my infield backup, martinez (3b, 2b, ss 3 ratings), at 1b instead (where he's not even rated, so he's a 5!), which then forces HAL to move freel to 2b (he's a 4). Encarnacion gets lf. So my infield consisted of 1b-5, 2b-4, ss-2, and 3b-4.

Why didn't HAL leave Dejesus in cf, put pena in rf, move lamb from 3b to 1b (3 rating), move freel to 3b (3 rating), and put martinez at 2b (3 rating)? Is that so hard to figure out? Geessh.
