USKL2 has 2 openings and we're looking for replacement owners. We are about to start our supplemental draft for season 2 of 2008. The rules are a little different (no stadium changes, no prospects, SOM-card only players, etc.). Here are the rosters of the available teams:

I'm the commisioner of USKL3 and 2 of our owners are AWOL. It has been 2 months since I've heard from either of them and even though we are done playing for the year, I'm still recruiting replacements now to get in on hot stove league activities.

So, my comments.

I didn't think qksilver would let Soto, Iwamura, and Volquez go for only your #1 and a switch of 3/4. Soto has a 50/50 chance of being decent longterm, but I think will suffer the sophmore blues. Volquez I worry that he threw too many innings at such a young age and may get the Prior/Wood injury bug. Iwamura should be the most consistent of the bunch.

As for the other side, Wagner is a consistent stud closer, Conor Jackson could turn into something (probably more like 67% chance IMO), Flores looks like a decent young catcher.

If anything qksilver might have overpaid for your #1 pick, but he's good so there is probably something he sees that I don't.

Well, Wagner is a 1-year rental really. I don't expect him to come back from the elbow injury.

C-Jax I think is perfect for my needs - a good bat vs LH that is not horrible vs RH & can platoon with A Gonz at 1B & not kill me on D there. There will be few cards with his natural XBH vs LH in the deck. And he's young enough where he should produce for a while.

Flores is just a fill in for Soto, doesn't hit RHs as well but I only really need him vs tough LHs.

As DT correctly points out, the main point of the deal was to get another high pick, and fill immediate needs. I agree I overpaid a bit to do it, but positioning myself the way I wanted seemed to pay off in last year's draft, hopefully the same will happen this time....
