Valid points, but to me, it was a case of getting two [b:4367957078]young [/b:4367957078]guys that I felt would be 1st round picks if they were available in the draft. and Iwumura fills a gaping hole for me at 2b.

Early reports on Jackson make him a 5 in LF which was where I was projecting using him, but if he is a 5 there, he wouldn't get much PT with me because of Lee at 1b. (Guerrero will be my DH with Drew in RF.)
I like Flores, but I LOVE Soto and if there's anywhere I have depth on this team it's at C. Wagner was expendable with F Cordero on staff. And Volquez was better than any of the SP I would have taken with my 1st pick anyway.

It does mean I only have one pick in the top 40, but as I said Volquez and Soto make up for that.

I have no idea about Volquez or Soto or anything... i need a quick up to speed update on the majors because I was really out of it this season.

Hey gang,

I may still have 2-3 more moves I'd like to make in the offseason:

1) a CF who hits LH
2) a good but not elite RP who projects to a $3-4M card
3) DH upgrade vs RH

I have the following as potential trade bait:

Ankiel - nice CF/RF vs RH, killer arm
Blackburn - 5th SP with some upside
B Hall - 3B/DH vs LH
Hermida - stock has dropped but still some upside
the LaRoche boys - Adam put together a decent year, Andy still upside
Ubaldo Jimenez - 5th SP this year, upside to #2 or #3 if he gets the walks down
Miguel Montero - LH C with pop who rumors say will get the starting gig in AZ (C Snyder supposedly will be dealt as a salary dump)

Hey Gang,

If it seems like I have not been on these threads for more than a month and a half it's because I have been off these threads for more than a month an a half.

After spending 10 of 11 weeks on the road including Beijing, I spent the last 5 reconnecting with me family.

I have actually considered even walking away from all this so I can concentrate on them full time, but I don't want to leave anyone hanging, esp. in this league where I am the commish.

I promise, that as soon as I am on the road for a 2 week span in couple of weeks I will bring this league up to date.

I know how you feel, Sandy, though I cannot claim the exotic travel schedule this time. I've merely been buried by university bureaucracy and attempting to clear out my desk for fun to come. In mid-December I will be off to Japan for a few months, but I'll be able to check and manage my keepers, so we'll all be in this together next season. I really cannot imagine what Beijing must have been like in Olympic time. I was in Japan during that crazy Korea-Japan shared event in the World Cup a few years ago and it was something indeed.

Anyone going to Puerto Rico for the World Baseball Championships?
