[quote:b4e1e47de9]Once the ratings book is out, teams will have about 2 weeks to declare their intent to switch stadiums or stay, once everyone has declared we will hold a stadium draft using the current draft order:

I have no problem with stadium changes as long as everyone gets a fair chance to change. However, as the rules are stated above, it gives an unfair advantage to GM's who pay for ratings. By using the "books" you can scout your roster and pick an advantageous venue. I am now and have always been a pure "card reader". No books, no services, no spread sheets. I wait until the set is released and then I learn the set.

long story short...... Is the solution as simple as waiting until draft day to make stadium changes?

I'll post what all the stadiums are so you'll be at the same advantage, I'll also send out a spread sheet with all the available players with the same info as the book so everyone is on an even playing field. The reason i do this is not to give everyone the same info, but so that you all have a reference that is the same to check before you make picks.

HOWEVER if you really want to wait that's fine, but it means delaying the start of this league a minimun of 2 weeks after the cards come out. I was under the impression we'd want to get rolling ASAP, but it makes no difference to me.

Cause someone has to be  , and that's the price you pay for having the best record last season. :D  :D

Look I don't want to make a big deal about this, I'm not even sure how many are willing to change their stadiums to begin with. I was simply trying to be accomidating to the new owners, and by extension as fair as possible to the old ones.

If anyone one of you has different ideas I'm all ears, as I've repeatedly said this is your league.

stadium question

Postby cshannajr » Wed Nov 19, 2008 7:14 am

just so i'm clear, we can decide to retain the stadium we have currently and not participate in the stadium draft if we choose not to, correct? the stadium draft order is set assuming everyone would like to choose a new stadium.

Correct. I'm not forcing you to change stadiums. If you want to keep Baltimore, you do and your name gets dropped out of the stadium draft.

That's what I meant before, there may only be 4 or 5 of us who want to switch. Of course it's tough to predict that not knowing what the new numbers will be. Don't forget, Strat changes the stadium numbers every year. Most stay consistant, but we've seen shifts. Wrigley, for example, used to be a RH power hitters park and this year it switched to a LH power park, so once you see the numbers for your park, you may want to change.

Cleveland used to be a bam box, now it's more neutral. My point is, you may have drafted your team last year to fit a certian park and Strat may change that park so that your team no longer fits, I just think it's easier to change a park than to overhaul your entire roster. In your case cshannajr, I don't think you have to worry, Camden has consistantly been a RH power hitters park in every season.

I just wanted to extend welcomes to Qksilver and Cubs48. I look forward to having you in the league and hopefully dealing with you in the future. And kudos once again to Ninersphan for keeping the league moving forward and doing an excellent job with the spreadsheets. They are invaluable.

Also, I sent a few PMs out there a while ago and I seem to have deleted them. I know a few GMs never responded. So, everyone please check your PMs and let me know if there are any trade possibilities you would like to visit (or revisit), or simply to let me know you're not interested.

I have a number of pieces I would consider moving, if anyone is interested - Kazmir & Loney, chief among them, but any number of OF/DH types as well (no, not Sizemore). And I'm always willing to explore larger deals. Thank you.

Smitty

Giving up Ludwick tough, but ya gotta give to get, and Pena needed a new home. Ichiro in CF, my 4-man rotation set with Lowe. Let's get it on!
