[b:259274cd12]AND IT'S NOT EVEN A RECORD![/b:259274cd12]

I was stunned when I checked the boxscores last night to see that this team had lit up the scoreboard with a 44 run game.

I was even more stunned when I checked the record books and the record is 46 runs in a game ..........

I think the most amusing line of that boxscore is:

M.Cvengros P 7 2 3 2 .185

I know if this was NetPlay, I would have been ready to throw my machine out a window.

I also liked the quote from Yaz:

[b:6f57dbc9e8]'I had good swings today,' Yastrzemski said, 'Everything felt right'.[/b:6f57dbc9e8]

Gee, ya think??? That's a humble guy that goes 7 for 7 and says that ...

You would think that with a 40-run lead, Cvengros would have been allowed to get the last out!

I can just imagine the converation on the mound: "Mike, I know we've got a little lead, and while you got Freehan and Bando to ground out, Agee got a hit off you that cost us 2% of our lead. This next guy, Doerr, is a monster, and with the tieing run just 38 batters away, we just can't risk it"

Man, that's one tough manager. :P
