Outta, no need for a resume, your rep proceeds you! At the end of the day, we'll probably have to open this up to guys with, say, > 1K wins, 550 WP and > 2 titles, or something like that.

Where's TRich, Mav, Toisan, scottso, Darth Ruvo, etc.?

Oops! I told Jablowmi NY by PM but I see that's already been taken. I have no clue which are the lottery states, but I'll say PA, MA, IL, and VA in that order, assuming one of them has a lottery. Whichever one first has a lottery, the others are free for anyone to pick.

I hope you have better luck than me with that Penn. I am in his division right now and he sits on 64-35 (.646) record. I have been in four leagues with the Ace and have never been able to slow down his total assault on the 80's game.

Looking at it another way...

Postby Outta Leftfield » Sat Feb 18, 2006 10:27 am

Another way to measure his skills against quality opposition is to look at the number of playoff teams he's had, versus the number of championships he's won. Playoff teams are almost by defintion good teams, but in 17 playoffs versus these good playoff teams, he's won 12 championships. I think that's even more amazing than the .603 w/l pct. In fact, he's won championships in .706 of all the playoffs he's entered--which may include some not yet completed. I tend to think of it as all a matter of luck once you're in the playoffs, but clearly that's not the case with Panzer.

I'm expecting to get my clock cleaned but am hoping to learn something in the process. :D

Alright, Jablow --- I've been convinced. I feel like I've missed out on the greatest opportunity in the 80's ... to have my backside waxed by Panzer Ace.

With all the teams I've had, I've never played in a league against the most fierce weapon ever created --- that German engineered killing machine known as the Panzer !!

count me in -- I'll take New Hampshire as my state.

One more to go !!

OL I agree his success in the playoffs is great, but the number that jumps out at me the most is .667. That is how many of his completed teams have won championships (12 out of 18  ). .667 also represents how many of his completed teams have won 100 or more games. He has also made the playoffs 17/18 completed seasons. His lone miss was his very first team when he still won 88 games.

I have been in several leagues with him, as have many of the 80's vets. Doesn't seem to matter who he plays. I have seen several very good online strat players in the different formats, but have never witnessed anything close to the domination Panzer Ace has exhibited on the 80's game.
