Built for Second Place

The season is still early, but I don't have a good feeling about making the playoffs with this crew.

I sold out on the hitting, and they have responded by being one of the highest scoring teams in the league. But as is to be expected, the pitching is among the worst.

Though I'm only 3 games out of 1st place, I'm tied for the 6th/7th best record in the league. One division has 4 teams with records equal to or better than mine. I highly doubt the WC will come out of my division.

What can I do to squeeze more wins out of this club? The obvious answer is improve the pitching (most notably Caldwell, who is a loss every time out). But which of the hitters do I dump? I can't decide who should go.

Or should just stick with the hand I dealt myself?

Overall I like your team and wouldn't make many drastic changes. You could look at Vuchovich or Bagby Jr. to replace Caldwell. Although Selkirk is performing well, I believe he's not as good a value as he was in ATG I. However, you may not have many good options after factoring in the 20% cap hit. Doby might be one option (which would also improve your defensive).
