No, you do not actually divide the total in half for the OPS number. If you use an 800 OPS in platoon you can use another 800 OPS in another platoon and it will count as one. Or you can use two different 800 OPS players for one position. If you only have one OPS player that you platoon, that will count as one of your 4, if you don't use another in platoon.
If you use an 800 OPS player in platoon and 700 OPS player in the same platoon, you can count the 700 as the other half of your 800 player so you don't have to count the 700 player as one of your 3.
Sorry, I didn't mean to really screw anyone up and make it harder for you. I got the idea from reading about the 1000 OPS league that just started and wondered what it would be like to have a league without any of the 30+ 1000 OPS hitters. Didn't think of the rule to pick on any certain team or franchise and wanted to try something that hasn't been tried yet.
Looks like we can take our time putting together our teams since a few will be traveling and unavailable. If someone from the East can start the league that would be good.
