SCRUBS CAN PLAY ALSO filled and waiting for draft.

He's Meat, I put myself down for the first Group A team, just because it the was the first, topmost team. If you want to sign up, but really would prefer a Group A, I will give you mine and take the West Division Group C. I don't care what group I play, just want to fill the league. I think each group has its inherent weakness. That's the fun of it, IMO. :)

Modmark....don't make any changes, this sounds like great fun as it is. Although it would be a weasel's delight to live draft! I too, thought that the "A" choice offers the best options....after all, I signed up for the A squad milliseconds  after Tom P......and if given the option would still like to try the A group...if this goes well, we may want to make this a four season league and each get each group. But being forced to try another group because of the heavy hand of time....the other choices are really interesting. If you focus on 2b, 3b or ss it appears that ss would be the worst, but I chose to look at CF, RF, LF and decided I didn't want a scrub in CF or LF...I've got my team ready to enter and the auto draft is going to be really interesting in this league.

I agree with Modmark...sure there may be someone that will enter with the intention of cheating or not playing by the spirit of the theme and the penalty? Probably that person just gets put on the list of "guys I don't want to be in the same SOM league with..." But I too am an optimist and have been playing in theme leagues for a long time and have very short list.

One final question about the scrub in the rotation...If you play three * SP's reagularly, then the scrub being a regular in the rotation would get a start every 9th game...would that be within the spirit of the rules?

Give the four season league some consideration...thanks for the new idea Modmark.

Thanks for the comments, Marge. If the league goes well, and people like it, I'd be for continuing and having everyone try the different groupings in subsequent leagues. As to your question about the starting scrub pitcher...hmmm. In that scenario, the scrub would not get the minimum required 26 starts. If you had TWO scrubs rotating in the 4th spot, the two TOGETHER would meet the min. requirement, I believe. I think that would be OK, i.e. two scrubs sharing the 4th SP spot would equal the ONE required scrub needing 26 starts. Unless someone else sees something wrong with that? Good question, Marge.

The 2 scrubs sharing the 4th SP spot works for me.

Hey, 2 scrubs rotating in the fourth spot looks like most of the teams I normally have in these leagues.... :P

Best to get all of the questions out of the way before we start so there are no hard feelings once the league starts..Let's fill this thing and get going!

Yeah, I agree. Ask away! I know I can't possibly think of every contingency, wrinkle, loophole that might crop up, so getting other's input is a big help. One motivating factor for me putting this theme together is the HUGE pool of players we use here in ATG2. Don't get me wrong, I love the options. But, I find my teams, and those of my competitors, looking like clones of each other most of the time. The theme leagues that involve some sort of restriction/cutting down of the player pool end up being some of the most enjoyable to play for me. I love seeing some player I hardly (or never) use stepping up and surprising me with an unexpected performance, which is what I hope happens in this league. :)

I'm for the two scrub rotation for the pitchers... fielders - you have to have a scrub replacement for your starting scrub.... lets go four games...

To pile on to Meat's post, I looked at this and thought it was a geat idea... I opted not join last night based on Meat's concern as well.... group A is far and away the best setup... C and 1B under 1M are a dime a dozen as compared to the others. SS/2B/CF are clearly the toughest to find... I would think 3B/LF/RF are kinda in the middle.... would think pairing 1B w/ SS and 2B w/ C would be ideal.

My humble 2 cents from a for now outsider.

I'm heading off to bed for the day, gang. If any of you have input concerning Novie's suggestions of reorganizing the groups, post them here. I will admit that when I put the groups together, I did not do any research into them. Just went with what felt right. I WON'T change things unless those of you have already signed up like his ideas better. I am very flexible here. Main thing is to fill the league, and have it be a fair and fun set up for everyone. I will try and check back in before leaving for work a little past 10pm EST tonight. :)
