Ken Singleton Waiver Wire F*** Up.

Postby ths92110 » Fri Dec 12, 2008 8:37 am

In 80's League 3 I accidently sent Ken Singleton to the Waiver Wire instead of George Hendrick (they were right next to each other on my roster). I have written TSN asking them to put him back: I think he was my 3rd or 4th draft pick. If this is somehow against Tournament Rules or the player code of conduct please let me know and, assuming I get him back, I'll send him back on the waiver wire.

Thanks.

PS. Here is the request I sent to TSN:

Please Help:

In 80's Tourney League 3 I accidently sent Ken Singleton to the waiver wire following the draft. This was not intentional: His 'card' was located right next to George Hendrick on my roster, and I hit the wrong button. If possible, could you please return him to my team prior to the end of the waiver period on December 13, at 5:00 p.m.? I have notified all the league managers and posted a message on the Tournament Website regarding this mistake, and have not seen any objections to the proposed action.

Thanks.

Is there going to be a website with standing like there was last year?

I certainly hope so. There is nothing more thrilling than seeing my name among the leaders every morning! And the bright side is....No one will finish in the 72nd slot because there are only 48 teams. One out of Four will be in the Finals! :D :D :D

Singleton Saga

Postby ths92110 » Sat Dec 13, 2008 12:11 pm

Here's how my bone-headed Ken Singleton fiasco wound up; With TSN posting the following message on the league home page to my everlasting embarrassment!!! Nonetheless a heartfelt thankyou to anyone who helped out: I'm really rather honored to play with you guys (and gals!!) :D

[b:43edc1a292]NOTE, 12/12: Crozier's Cannibals IV made an honest mistake and accidentally dropped Ken Singleton. It appears the consensus of the league is to allow them to pick Singleton back up with his first Waivers pick. We believe that is fair and would like to ensure that that happens. Everyone but the Cannibals IV, please do not attempt to pick up Singleton with your first pick. Thank you for your cooperation. [/b:43edc1a292]

   (God . . . . . . Maybe I can appear on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon too . . . . . . :D )

Good luck, everyone. I hope we see the tourney page shortly. I've sent the information to Bernie, but haven't heard back. Should be fun, although I'm usually much more comfortable with my teams at this point........

[quote:0c71b3e9a9="Jablowmi"][quote:0c71b3e9a9="LMBombers"]Actually Ellis Valentine the 70's player isn't too bad. See below. Ellis Valentine the 80's player........not so much.

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/70s/team/team_other.html?user_id=39065

He doesn't know what a walk is but other than that he is an RBI machine and he has a howitzer for an arm in RF.[/quote:0c71b3e9a9]

except that you probably have the 1980 valentine! i actually think both cards are a little underrated. the 70s version is priced a little high, but ellis can play the field, run and kill lefties with almost all cards. sometimes, worth a shot.[/quote:0c71b3e9a9]

Nope, it is Valentine's 1979 card.

well, I can see why Bernie is hesitant. No one really wants to see "The Dark Horse" near the top of the leaderboard. But destiny, is destiny! 8-)
