Chess, were you trying to spell the word ***-i-nine with your team name Asinie Assassins or do you live in someplace like Asinine, Ohio or on Asinine Steet in Pittsburgh, PA?

Asinine is the correct spelling, Assinine I have used for effect. I used to have good teams but they never win the World Championship, so I have switched to obnoxious or evil teams in an attempt to change my destiny. It appears to be working. My first Assinine team is only 1 game from a title despite its 79-83 record. That of course seems asinine. Of course with my luck, I'll blow a 3-1 lead for the 5th time.

Sometines a name change can change your future. That is why I am the Dark Horse in this tournament.

No Respect

Postby chess2899 » Sat Dec 13, 2008 11:01 pm

By the way, I don't receive any respect as the Dark Horse. Here is PhillyHemp's response upon my announcement that I am entering the 70s/80s tournament as the Dark Horse.

I'm in too. And if the Assassins make the top twelve, I'll shave my back
hair....[/quote:0bca687966]

I wonder if we can get that on U-Tube!

Dark Horse

Postby YountFan » Sat Dec 13, 2008 11:06 pm

Dark Horse was the name of George Harrison's record label and cannot be used for SOM. Please refrain from using the term "Dark Horse" in the future unless in the context of:

[b:424d3332be]Dark Horse[/b:424d3332be] [i:424d3332be]- G Harrison[/i:424d3332be]

You thought that you knew where I was and when
But it looks like they've been foolin' you again,
You thought that you'd got me all staked out
But baby looks like Ive been breaking out

Im a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I stepped from out of the womb
Ive been a cool jerk
Looking for the source
I'm a dark horse.

You thought you had got me in your grip
Baby looks like you was not so smart
And I became too slippery for you
But let me say that was nothing new.

I'm a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I picked up my first spoon
Ive been a cool jerk
Looking for the source
I'm a dark horse

I thought that you knew it all along
Until you started getting me not right
Seems as if you heard a little late
But I warned you when
We both were at the starting gate

I'm a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I'm a blue moon
Since I stepped from out of the womb
Ive been a cool jerk
Cooking at the source
I'm a dark horse.

yep, 1974,

Harrison lived near me in Nahiku. Super friendly to all neighbors. I am a big fan! I'll be "The Dark Horse".

Off too a slow start, as the Assassins laid 44 on me at home in Fenway(starters allowed a 19 for 33 BA) and my 70's Fenway teamj gave up 15 HR's in the opening series, including eight by Wise in the opener. Assassins now = a dead on favorite.

Ouch, 44 runs? Now I don't feel so bad about the 28 my team gave up. Actually I still do.

Oh good, 0-6 with 4 one run losses. 0-3 in each league. Well, first time this has happened, but we're not out yet! I'll wait until game 9 to switch managers.

Catfish Hunter turned in a no-hitter for me last night. Only the second one I've ever gotten:

He was 2 walks away from the perfect game...
