Suggestion from an outsider

Postby Leo / loob » Sun Feb 19, 2006 3:02 pm

Use the 200 Mill League option

Doing such, would enable you to have all teams enter as carded. There is no bottom cap in 200 mill leagues.

Also, I did an experiment on your division question.

If, you give a value of 1 million for every game a team is over .500. Add that to the total team salary, the divisions would look like such....

*The # after the team name is total value (Team Salary + 1 Million for every win over .500)

East:
Bal 122
Min 98
NYM 95
Pit 83

Central
Atl 79
SF 79
Det 76
Cin 74

West
Stl 72
ChC 69
Oak 68
Bos 67

So, the divisions, from an outsider, would make the most sense if done by team salary (its EXACTLY the same)

K, sorry to intrude, just some ideas to ponder for you

Actually Leo is right. We need to use the 200M cap because all other cap limits have a minimum roster requirement of 60M. I thought that every team was over that hurdle but upon further review I see that the Chicago Cubs are not so I think we much use the 200M cap league like the one we are using now. Even with the two extra players I suggest for the Cubs they would still be just under 60M.

We are only choosing DH or NO DH and divisons by salary or won-lost records. A 200M salary cap is a requirement to get every team's roster legal.

200 mil/DH/W-L records

Frankly I really don't care about the division thing. The only two teams it really affects are the pirates and the Braves. The salary's in the 69 version are so OFF in my opinion it doesn't matter Their are too many guys like Lee Maye and Billy Voss--vitually 50 centers who play WAY over their salary and to many overprised guys to name. I personally think they made ALOT of mistakes in pricing the 69 set. The main reason I had those 4 teams in the East is because those were your 4 playoff teams for that year. No one can tell me that Pittsburg will compete in the East better than Atlanta would regardless of TSN's Bogus salary figures. Those are the four best teams that made the playoffs. I don't really want to get caught up in how much salary each team has because then you get to thinking is it fair to Chicago to play any teams from the East etc. etc. My point is that the salary figures are totally made up by TSN so why use that to set the divisions--use how the teams actually played. I am IN--IN --IN---anyway--just giving my 2 pennies worth. Larry

Extra Players

Postby LMBombers » Mon Feb 20, 2006 6:48 am

There has been no discussion on the extra players I proposed. Does everyone like them? Do we need to find a different player for Boston?
