SOM 2006 TEASER for Tue, 3/14

Just wanted to fill you in on a few things about the upcoming 2006 game (2005 season).

1. We plan to release the game in March. I'd like to get it out as early in March as possible, but I'm sure you all agree that we should take whatever time we need to make it the best it can be.

2. All the work from now until launch will be [b:fe2e945114]focused on making YOU, our existing fans, happy[/b:fe2e945114]. We will be taking steps in the near future to bring new customers in the door, but we realize that the key to a successful business is to [b:fe2e945114]put the existing community first[/b:fe2e945114].

3. For the first time I'm going to be trying to address certain issues with the computer manager AI. [i:fe2e945114]I can't promise ground-breaking results[/i:fe2e945114], as the code is complex and daunting, but I wanted you to know that I'll be giving it my best shot, and we'll see what we can do. I'll be enlisting some help with this in terms of running test leagues, but [i:fe2e945114]do not volunteer[/i:fe2e945114] - I'll recruit when the time comes.

That's it for now. I intend to update this thread over the next month as I know more details. Please don't flood this thread with suggestions or get into debates here; I'd like to keep this a central place where I can report news to you about the 2006 game.

I've built an option to play without the clutch hitting rule, but I'm not entirely sure I'm going to keep it.

It seems the paying customers here should have access to the rules and the game charts (.pdf?). What do you think?

I have them, I just think it would enhance the game for those who are new, and really want to get into Strat via TSN online.
