$25 is kinda pricey!!!!

Don't get me wrong I am a Stratomatic leaguer and love it, but my friends who would enjoy it also are kinda shunning away from the $25 price tag. I myself would probably go at 2 or 3 different leagues at once if it was a little more affordable. I understand it is a service and all but its just hard to recruit players into something with that kinda price. I think $10 a team you could triple the amount of new players and probably get existing players to buy into many more teams and show a legitimate growth!!!!!!!!! Just an Idea, that would help me run many more teams!!!!!

That is why you should spend $100 and get a 5 pack of teams! Where else can you spend $25 and have this much enjoyment for 2 months? That is less than 50¢ a day.

well you have to look at it from more than just your shoes.

a) go check out something like whatifsports where it is even more expensive, and not as a good a game IMHO.

b) It costs money to run the league, it isn't free. It was a while ago, but basically at $17 a person (give or take a dollar either way) they are barely breaking even. It is a business, they are not just giving away free games. For how few people actually play it (compared to fantasy baseball, football, etc) it isn't a big money maker for them, and if it lost money, there would be no reason to keep it around.

The $100 five pack is a good deal, relative to the $25 you would spend for a single team. There are also a ton of people here who play often enough to get themselves known to others, have fun, and basically hang out for the on-line community. I've run into the same problem getting people I know to buy into Strat, but I think I would rather play with the guys and girls around here, who appear to have found Strat on their own and didn't need someone to recruit them or convince them to play.

What you could try is buying the board game and playing that with your friends - that way, they wouldn't have to spend a dime to become familiar with the product, and maybe that would grab their interest. Just a thought.

Yup, it's not as bad as it once was. $25 US is now about $29 Canadian.

I've sometimes wondered how much it costs TSN to run this game. They probably have to pay a fair amount in royalties to Strato. Somebody in the admin once said (I think when we were complaining about credit transfers) that it wasn't a big money maker for TSN and more of a labour of love for the guys that work on it, and I would tend to believe them.
