Bob's LEAGUE-RD 3- WESTERN DIVISION CAN ENTER

Postby rschwartz51 » Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:53 pm

Cap - $100M
DH - Yes
Advanced
5/10/20
Franchise Selection - By Lottery
Ballpark - Can use any ballpark

Franchise Selection:

Class A Franchises

1. Angels
2. Dodgers
3. Mets
4. Padres
5. Phillies
6. Pirates
7. Reds
8. Senators/Twins
9. White Sox

Class B Franchises

1. A's
2. Cards
3. Cubs
4. Indians
5. Giants
6. Red Sox
7. Tigers
8. Yankees

Once the sign-up process is complete I will add a maximum of 2 players to each of the Class A Franchises.

1) These players may come from any Franchise outside of Class A

2) Based on eligibility of 400 AB / 100 IP for SP and 50 IP for a RP in 1 season or 3 seasons on an individual Franchise.

Once this done a draft of Franchises will be held based on a lottery (unless an approved random method is used). This is prior to the autodraft.

There can be only 6 Class B Franchises selected leaving a minimum of 6 Class A to be drafted. Class B Franchises are those Franchises selected from their past performance in my $150M 12 by 12 Franchise League to be put on a handicap against weaker and/or hardly used Franchises.

Once the Franchise draft is completed a draft of 2 rounds, serpantine in nature, will be held for the Class A Franchises using the eligibility specified earlier and based on the lottery results using the reverse order of the results.

Class B will then draft, also in reverse order of the original lottery drawing or random method. Eligibility remains the same.

Draft Order:
1. Fluffyman
2. errormagnate
3. Jamesgang77
4. BobSchwatrz
5. stephen_lee
6. honestiago
7. warrenbob52
8. adojake
9. DonFESQ
10. CF17
11. Runnin'Rebel
12. Frank M

TYPE A FRANCHISE PLAYER ADDs - S. CRAWFORD for C. MAYS /REDS

Postby rschwartz51 » Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:55 pm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have pretty much completed the roster addiions but need som help with the Pirates. I've just hit a wall and can't find any useful non-franchise players.

Here is what I'm recommending - any suggestions will be welcome. However, I've decided that for expansion Franchises I'll list 4 players and during the draft the manager can release a FA and draft another eligible player. For lesser Franchises 3 players will be added.

Angels - Dean Chance; Bobby Grich; Fred Lynn; Reggie Jackson

Dodgers - Arky Vaugan; Joe Medwick, Billy Herman

Mets - Eddie Murray; Gary Carter; Mike Piazza, Warren Spahn

Padres - Gaylord Perry; Rollie Fingers; Ken Caminiti; Roberto Alomar

Phillies - Bill White; Steve Bedrosian

Pirates - Jack Chesboro; Rich Gossage

Reds - Jim Bottomley; Sam Crawford; Tom Seaver

Senators / Twins - Joe Cronin; Stan Covelski, George Sisler

White Sox - Hoyt Wilhelm; Tim Raines; Early Wynn

RESPONSES TO FLUFFYMAN64

Postby rschwartz51 » Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:57 pm

So what happens next; is it...

1. Pick franchises

YES, I'M SATISFIED WITH THE CLASS A ADDITIONS. FOR THE RECORD I TRY NOT TO TAKE MAJOR PLAYERS OFF OF CLASS B FRANCHISES IF THAT PLAYER ONLY HAD A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THE TYPE A FRANCHISE AND IF IT HURTS THAT TYPE B FRANCHISE. HOWEVER, MY GOAL IN THIS THEME IS TO PROVIDE INCENTIVE FOR USING THE CLASS A FRANCHISES.

2. A two round draft for the class A? (in reverse order)
who do we draft, players unassigned to drafted franchises or ANY player assigned or not (that meets the Fr. requirement)

YES

3. A two round draft for the Class B?

YES

Also, tell me the divisions won't be set up by draft order, if so, I have no incentive to pick a class A franchise. Which is what I would prefer to do.

I'D RATHER NOT RUN THIS LEAGUE ASSUMING HOW FRANCHISES DID IN A $150M LIMITED BALLPARK LEAGUE WILL BE HOW THEY RUN IN THIS THEME. WITH A LOWER CAP, OPEN BALLPARKS, ASSIGNED PLAYERS TO TYPE A FRANCHISES I'D LIKE TO BELIEVE THAT SURPRISES WILL HAPPEN.

I'D RUN A SEPARATE RANDOMIZER AND USE 1,4,7,10 EAST ; ETC.

It would be cool if the Class A could pick players from the class B as well.

might help them a bit.

Then allow the Class B managers to switch franchise if they wish (to another Class B)

This would also encourage the use of Class A clubs, which could be a problem

I WILL AGREE TO TYPE A FRANCHISES BEING ABLE TO PICKING FROM THE TYPE B FRANCHISES BUT EACH B FRANCHISE CAN ONLY LOSE 1 PLAYER. AT THE POINT THE MANAGER OF B FRANCHISE LOSES THE 1 PLLAYER THE MANAGER MAY CHOSE TO SELECT ANOTHER OPEN FRANCHISE.

question? we're drafting from the A teams first? wouldnt that mean by the time we get to lower part of draft the lower teams are getting first crack at the better teams? the B teams. I'll be back later this afternoon (probably around 330 EST), sorry for any holdup.

RESPONSE TO JAMESGANG77 & FLUFFYMAN64

Postby rschwartz51 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 3:55 pm

There is a misunderstanding. I've gone back and read the posted threads and I don't see the problem so let me just explain here.

There is no problem with picking a Type B Franchise anywhere in the Franchise draft.

The issue may be that once the Franchise draft is completed a 2nd draft and 3rd draft where we add 2 players is held.

The 2nd draft will be held for those Franchises picked that are TYPE A only. The draft will include a minimum of 6 TYPE A Franchises in reverse order of their draft order and be serpentine.

TYPE A Franchises may select players off TYPE B but there may be only 1 player taken off a TYPE B Franchise before that Franchise is protected from having any player taken from it.

The 3rd draft is for TYPE B only and also in reverse order of their draft order and will be 2 rounds, serpentine in nature. No player may be taken from a participating TYPA A Franchise in the draft.

NOTE TO REDS

Postby rschwartz51 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 4:04 pm

It was pointed out that Carl Mays is already a RED. I therefore, have substituted Sam Crawford for him as a replacement.
