Help please!!!!!!

Where the hell do I bat M Ott?? This is the 3-4th time I've used him and he has never performed for me and unfortunately, this is the Alphabet league and I'm pretty much stuck with him. Where the hell does 1 hit this guy? He's not hitting, not slugging, and not getting on base and his $9mil contract is absolutely choking me. Every day I get up and see his AWFUL night and it makes me want to drive my car off a bridge.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a lineup for this team? I don't care if you're in the league or not... I'm looking for any help. Thanks.

Well, IMO, Ott outside of a hitters park is nothing more than a guy who walks alot. In that lineup, I might be tempted to bat him 8th, he has decent speed, and will get walked alot in front of your pitcher perhaps.... :x

But I agree, in a pitchers park, he is an awkward fit....

Sit him vs LHP in favor of J. Alou.

I'd hit him 2nd versus righties. I'd have a hard time sitting vs lefties in favor of Alou, and would only do that at home if you did.

The only guy on your team with a better on base pct. is Alou (who you want in the heart of your lineup), so hit Ott first.

Ott's stats vs LHP:

73 14 0 1 3 6 13 9 .192 .343 .314

I don't know about you, but I'd get a perverse pleasure out of benching him for a sub $1M player. Beats driving your car off a bridge.

My most current Ott, after 108 games in Briggs, leading off.

vs LHP 93 34 2 2 9 22 28 14 .366 .720 .516
vs. RHP 319 96 16 3 23 54 68 35 .301 .586 .423

And a full season (an Alphabet league, as well) in Olympic

601 131 34 25 80 144 1 2 .301 .506 .435

I've played him on about 10 teams and it always feels like he's having a bad season, but he usually performs to within 5-10% of his card (HR, AVE, SLG, OBP) for me. I almost always bat him in the #1 slot. Nothing like a leadoff homerun to demoralize your opponent!
