OLG -2004 Edition - Division Assignments - Ammended

Postby Coffeeholic » Mon Dec 29, 2008 6:27 am

Since JKolak posted that he will not be able to get his team enterred until Wednesday or Thursday, we can just juxtaposition (sp?) the East and West divisions. This way, perhaps we'll all be loaded in the new league by the time Joe gets around to enterring his team.

So, one of you guys in the new EAST (Bomberny, ny2dave, poser, McConvey) can create the 2004 league, making sure it is a $80mil, DH, password protected league, then send along the password to the rest of the (new) EAST. Last guy in the EAST can then send the password out to the CENTRAL, etc, etc...

AMENDED DIVISIONS - 2004

EAST
Bomberny
Ny2dave
Poser
McConvey

CENTRAL
Ironwill
JDClark
Rzpernick
Grossman

WEST

[quote:8af41220a5]I don't think that any format has been agreed upon? I believe that JKolak merely made the suggestion of changing the seeding arrangement when we were loading our 2003 teams.

Wake up and smell the Coffee coffee!!! You are the commissioner. Make the decision and communicate it to the rest of us. Quit trying to outSelig Bud Selig! :P

[quote:c8cba844f4]Yesterday was the day when I refocused back on my 2002 and 2003 teams after the 2001 heart break and my soon ending 16 fantasy football teams (5 are in Finals this weekend).

excuses Alexx...always excuses...16 fantasy football teams? What is it that you actually do for a living anyway?

[quote:0714f26387]Guess I'm not too happy with what at first appears like changing the rules in midstream. Oh well. Guess that means I'll be in Kolak's division until the end of time. Oh goody.

Come on Alexx...2004 and 2005 were not exactly my best seasons. I need to take the 2002 crown and hope that in a highly competitive 2003 league that my team will edge and inch into the playoffs. More than likely, I will not have a head of steam going into the next couple seasons.

   LMAO Gross!

[i:16300842c0]I think the only way to make everybody happy, is to start over after we are done with this. Give Kojak his crown and then ban him from the next tourney. He is obviously to good. [/i:16300842c0]

Am I really that good or are you guys really just that bad?

[i:16300842c0]Has he been tested for performance enhancing drugs?[/i:16300842c0]

I'm Polish. The only performance enhancing drug I consume is vodka straight up with a kielbasy and sauerkraut sandwich...just don't get close to me while I'm doing that...

[i:16300842c0]This is supposed to be a collection of good strat managers that he is working over.[/i:16300842c0]

Rather debatable...I usually choke against good managers. I usually beat up against sandlot baseball sparring partners like you guys.

[i:16300842c0]Maybe he has come from the future to destroy us. Has anyone here met him in person? Could he be a Vampire? He may have been playing strat since Abner Doubleday helped launch the game of baseball.[/i:16300842c0]

I've been playing StratOMatic since 1989. (We would play during our lunch "hour" at work).

I've played in an 8 team face-to-face league since 1996. Yes we play with real dice and the real 20 sided die with the charts, rules, kibbitzing, beer, pretzels, arguments and trash talk. Only one "ownership" change in the 13 year history of the league. A great night out!!!

I do a lot better and draft a lot better since there is no salary cap in that league. Over the 13 seasons, let's see:

I had a losing record twice
I had a winning record but missed the playoffs once :x
I've been to the playoffs 10 times...not bad because only the top three teams of the 8 teams make the playoffs.....and I've won the league championship 7 times. :D :D :D

You can see why everyone in that league really loves me!   I think they hang around as long as they have for the pleasure breaking my balls big time when I fall short.

The salary cap in the on-line game is the great equalizer. IMO, the best player out there in the on-line game outside of the ATG crowd is Play By The Rules (Doug Bickel). He is the real SOM baseball genius. His record is incredible and he has been very consistent in his excellence.

It took me a lot of trial and error, mainly error, to get competent in the on-line game. Keep fighting...keep playing...the old seasons are the best bargains and the cheapest way of refining your drafting and managing skills over time.[/quote]

kolak is losing in one league in 2005 tsn11042

Postby bomberny50 » Tue Dec 30, 2008 3:26 pm

but there are still 54 games to go, so he'll probably surge and win anyway.

However he can be beaten, but i guess he can talk his smack as long as he wins.

Your team is doing well in that league bomberny. My squad went through a rough patch and couldn't win. 2005 was a not a good year for me in this game.

2002 LEAGUE update.

With 6 games left to play, my East Coast Yankees have come from behind to force a 3 way tie for the Wild Card. The teams in the 3 way tie with me are the Birmingham Blacksmiths and the Meadowbrook Caciques. Going to be interesting.
