Greenwell may surprise you...he can consistently hit left hand pitching.

We'll see.

For now, I am using all my statistical capacity to discern whether I have [b:c30bcf8bc0]Singleton's [/b:c30bcf8bc0] 1982 card with .251 BA / .351 OPB (5R) and drop it to get back [b:c30bcf8bc0]Daniels [/b:c30bcf8bc0] on the hope it is his 1990 (.296 / .388 2R) and not 1991 (.249 / .340 E).

For my 18 games with Daniels, he hit 3 HRs but batted .188 / .728 OPS in Royals.

Central Division

Postby tgmfp » Sun Feb 19, 2006 4:21 pm

Pompano Sliders checking in for the Centrtal.
I too have set up shop in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. We have the O's in Fulton County, The Reds are in Three Rivers and then the Dogsowar are bring us down with Royals Stadium. Should be a lot runs scored in our division.

I like my starting 4 of Gooden, Soto, Welch, Reuss. Not sure if I started a season with 4 SP over 6 mil before. Line up will be for Hr's not much average in my lineup. Somehow I got Kingman in the draft and kept him since I' :D m Wrigley. Never had him for long on any other teams.

The O's look alright. A lot speed witth Ricky, Vince and Omar. 5 man Rotaion with Mr. Ryan on top. Good balance of power and average on both sides of the plate.

The Reds also have a 5 man Rotation lead by lefthanders El Sid and Guidry. The staff will be caught by Mr steady Gary Carter. Mighty powerful outfield with Rice, Lynn, Canseco and Barfield. Throw in 1B Thorton and you get a lot Hrs.

Dogsowar have 4 Righthanded starters with Lefties in the bullpen ready to eat up lefty baters. Ace SP Deleon and CP Holland. They are the best defensive team in the division. Very good balance of power and average through out the lineup lead by Puckett and Murray

My Prediction of course the Sliders win Division
Sliders 91-61 :D
Reds 88-64 :)
Dogsowar 86-66 :?
O's 80-84 :(

Question

Postby Misterg78582 » Sun Feb 19, 2006 5:37 pm

OK Gumby!!! Way to go!!! Your board is very active.

But I have just one question. My better judgement tells me not to post this, but in the words on an iconic '80s ad -- "WHERE'S THE SMACK????"

My gf can talk better smack than this.

Oh well, guess we are all over-the-hell forty-something or others.

[b:d1ae0c3356]Stratzillas[/b:d1ae0c3356]
BP: Dodgers

OWNER: Jimmy C
RATING: Top 25 :(

Pitch Keys: Get lucky with cheap SPs and get 150+ innings from Henke

Bat Keys: LHBs go station to station & get Winfield to hit 35+ HRs

[b:d1ae0c3356]Webster City[/b:d1ae0c3356]
BP: Dodgers

OWNER: FletchGriswold
RATING: Top 12

Pitch Keys: SPs long innings & LHRPs pour cold water on LHB+ lineups

Bat Keys: IF needs to hit and OF needs to find itself on the base paths

[b:d1ae0c3356]Sunset Strip[/b:d1ae0c3356]
BP: Olympic

OWNER: Jack
RATING: UNK

Pitch Keys: LHSPs need solid outings with strong reverse LHRP cards

Bat Keys: OF hits too many solo shots w/o Madlock's good card

Interesting analysis of the Posers. Thanks for that.

As for the rating, I haven't played the 80s game as much as some others. I'm 200th!

StratBaseball 80s 200 7 445 404 .524 3 1 105

I'm expecting some OBP from Eric Davis, Mickey Tettleton, and Ken Singleton in addition to the "good" Madlock so hopefully all that power won't go to waste.

I've used roughly this pitching staff 3 times with a lot of success so I'm hoping for the same here.

Thanks and good luck,

8)

Jack,

200th is still better than my rank - I'm not even ranked.

It will be a fun division with three veterans and "nick the new guy".

Go easy on me :D

Will be fun as we have a few teams going with twists to their line-up cards.

I'm sure Bill Veeck would have loved this league.

So much for spending money on defensive skills this past series with the result being [b:a7a03e0714]7 unearned runs [/b:a7a03e0714] (5 being in one inning to blow the game)

Otherwise, I'm going to investigate [b:a7a03e0714]Jeff Parrett[/b:a7a03e0714] as I sense he had something to do with that NHL gambling ring in New Jersey.
