Tough series to lose Gross. We both had 5 man rotations. You had a stud/dud rotation. I had a bargain basement dud rotation. Usually when you have your money spread over 5 pitchers rather than concentrated on 2 studs and 3 duds, the manager with the money pread over 5 pitchers will typically prevail. Tough losss Gross. Better StratOLuck in our next few leagues.

Down to me and Coffee for the championship. During the regular season we split 6 and 6. I like Coffee's rotation. Three *studs and 2 duds alternating for the fourth turn in the rotation.

Coffee has the homefield advantage. His 49-32 home record was third best for the season. My team road record of 45-36 was third in the league too. I need to split the opening games with Coffee.

At home my record was 53-28. Tied for first in the league. Coffee was no slouch on the road as he sports the best road record of 50-31. No doubt that my team will need to win at least 2 out of 3 to prevail.

If my team goes back to the unfriendly ball park effect home run confines of SAFECO up 3 games to 2, I like my chances to win either Game 6 or split taking Game 7. Anyway that will be my battle plan for the series.

With the point scoring system, the way I figure it looks like this:

There are 3 managers with 200 points or more.

JKolak 116 points from 2001 with another 98 from 2002 with 10 additional points for the division title and 5 more for winning the semifinal series gives me a total of 229 points.

Coffee 102 points from 2001 with another 99 from 2002 with 10 additional points for the division title and 5 more for winning the semifinal series gives him a total of 216 points.

Artemus Rex has 121 points from 2001 and another 82 points from 2002 for a total of 203 points.

I love these 2004 game summaries from my sweep of Coffee last night. Coffee has a perfect record in the early start of the 2004 season of 0-9.

Game One:

The Richmond Battle Cats 50 cruised to a 7 to 2 victory over the [b:1363610fdf]reeling[/b:1363610fdf] Lake City Party Animals at Minute Maid Field.

Game Two:

Aramis Ramirez added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the bat as the Richmond Battle Cats 50 outscored the [b:1363610fdf]slumping[/b:1363610fdf] Lake City Party Animals 14 to 10.

Game Three:

First baseman Albert Pujols had 5 hits and 6 RBI and Nate Robertson racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts at Minute Maid Field as the [b:1363610fdf]Richmond Battle Cats 50, running on all cylinders, ripped the slumping Lake City Party Animals by a large 20 to 3 margin.[/b:1363610fdf]

Its early, yes, but I LOVE IT!

?Remeber coffee was away and nine games don't make a season. I think 3, 4 and 5 you may have a little more competion from some other guys. I just hope i'm one,

Before the start of our series I did not think I had a chance. After I got the first two I was quite happy. After I lost the next two I knew I was screwed.

At least my teams keep are getting ranked high in the preseason. Do I get any points for that?

Is any one going to make predictions for the 04 seson?

You are a great GM Gross...during the regular season HAL must not like you too much.

Splitting in the unfriendly hitter confines of SAFECO was the best scenario I could hope for and was the one my team achieved last night.

I like the matchups I have tonight against the CoffeeMate man. Glavine is a reverse LHP. I happen to have Bonds and Klesko who can crush LH pitching. Likewise I also have RH hitters who can hit LH pitchers. I get to start Aramis Ramirez at 3B who has 8 BP effect HRs against LH on his card. In addition, Bellhorn and Sosa crush LH pitching. Hopefully Leiber will do well in the start for me. Leiber does get popped a bit by LH hitters.

Radke against Franklin does put my good bargain reverse RH pitcher against the left-leaning Coffee lineup. Radke will probably have a pretty decent start for me. Franklin should get rocked and rolled at New Comiskey by my number one ranked offensive lineup.

If my team wins both games tonight, I will have a great shot at winning the series. If we split, I have to give the edge to the Decaf-Coffee man to take the tiltle. A pair of wins by the Java-Man gives him the sure title.

split 2 games apiece...Milton vs. Wood...my team must win game 5. Being down 3 games to 2 win Perez on the mound in Game 6 at SAFECO does not look too promising.

Kerry Wood rated by the LBB as the 5th best #2 starter. Has only 5 hit chances against LH hitters and 9 hit chances against RH hitters. Does have 26 on base chances against LH and 17 against RH with total bases of 33 against LH and 17 against RH. Ball park effect HR is 1 against LH and 3 against RH.

Eric Milton rated by LBB as the last pitcher rated as a number #3 starter. Does have 16 hit chances against LH and 23 hit chances against RH. Features a whopping 54 total bases against LH and 39 against RH with an astounding 8 ball park effect HR against LH and 5 against RH.

Milton needs to come up for me big just like he did in the fifth and deciding game against Gross in the semifinal series. Milton did pitch 2 no-hitters for me throughout my 89 2002 teams including a perfect game. It would be nice if he could make it a hat trick against Coffee tonight.
