potential improvements?...

potential improvements?...

Postby bomp helium » Wed Feb 22, 2006 5:32 pm

I'm just a rookie, so forgive the presumption, but I thought we might have a topic about ways we (the people) feel that the game might be improved...little thinks that might help the GMs make sound decisions...these are not demands or complaints, but just feedback for the folks behind the curtain...

One easy thing I'd like to see is a more complete assortment of stats...we make roster decisions based on performance, and that's hard if we're missing a lot of data...things such as:

OF assists
picther HRs allowed
pitcher DPs
fielder hits allowed
etc...

even the box scores don't tell you who threw the ball on an OF assist...I would think this wouldn't be a big deal to expand that to identify the player in question...

thanks to the folks behind the scenes for making this an amazing simulated experience...maybe we can make it better?...

after hitting "submit", i remembered that of course pitchers' HRs ARE recorded (in the splits)...I just threw that list off the top of my head to get things rolling...

actually, with each at bat (in the boxscore?) I would LOVE to see "the roll"...if it's a 1-9, why not tell us?...it would be nice to know if a hit is because of the hitter's talent, the pitcher's lack of talent, or a bumbling fielder...these things can make a difference in making sane roster moves...

for example, on a Coors team I have Wil Ledezma is sailing along with a 6.00 ERA...is that his fault?...how much of the blame goes to Barry Larkin?...Larkin has made only one error in 109 games, but how many hits have slipped past him?...I have no way of knowing...without seeing the rolls it's hard to know what needs fixing and what is just "bad rolls"...

I would like to see team and individual stats broken down by home and road games. Individual batter, pitcher and team GIDPs would be helpful.

A breakdown of record vs. each of the other 11 teams would also be useful.

why not post this in the "Suggestions, Questions, for TSN" discussion? They do check that.

I would like a statistical berakdown written in book form sent to my home weekly of all my teams. Cound you please include OPS, OBP, SLG, TB, BA, RUNS, ADD, CNBC, CNN, TBS and HIV. That way I have something to do on the weekends because lord knows I don't leave the house! I can then make prudent changes to my existing teams and learn how to become a strat ninja to take over the planet!

Does anyone else ever feel like they are surrounded by geeks?

individual fielding percentage and would be a helpful stat. i think that going on the stratomatic baseball message board a saying you are surrounded by geeks is kind of like going swimming and complaining that you are surrounded by hydrogen and oxygen atoms. science rules!

Team record vs. righty and lefty starters would be a sweet change.
