With nearly everyone's protected players' lists in and you being the only one to report a real problem, I think it may be better to just disregard my previous rule and declare Niehoff off-limits to everyone but you. I encourage anyone with strong objections to this option to voice their opinions. However, I'm guessing everyone else would rather you have Niehoff than Rogers Hornsby ;)[/quote:a86058cfe4]

OK. There's a 50-50 chance that this is going to happen to me again. I don't think it's unreasonable for me to have to use a draft choice on those players, I just think that poorer quality players should require forfeiting a later round pick.

[quote:f65bfa5a6f="AeroDave10"][u:f65bfa5a6f][b:f65bfa5a6f]Small Ball DH League[/b:f65bfa5a6f][/u:f65bfa5a6f]

1. You must select a stadium with no more than 10 combined (L+R) HR chances. Unfortunately, the Red Sox cannot meet this criterion so they can play in Braves Field '41. While it was the home of the Braves, it was located in Boston, and the Red Sox used the field during the 1915 and 1916 World Series.

2. [b:f65bfa5a6f]ALL[/b:f65bfa5a6f] starting position players (not the DH) must have a 1 rating at the defensive position they will play. Backups and the DH can have any rating. If you use a platoon at a defensive position, [b:f65bfa5a6f]BOTH[/b:f65bfa5a6f] platoon players must have a 1 defensive rating at the position.

3. Every manager must have at least one left-handed pitcher in his/her starting rotation. He can be a 4 day or 5 day starter, but he must routinely pitch (no .5M fillers ;) )

4. Claim 10 players carded to your franchise. You will then have the "right of first refusal" to them. This means that if you select a player but do not put him on your draft card, he loses that protection. You do not have to keep these players after the autodraft.

5. We will have a 6 round supplemental draft. Draft order will be determined by state lotteries (high to low) run Monday night (Jan 5, 2009). The players in this draft can either be carded to your franchise or not, but must have had 200 IP or 500 AB with your franchise if not carded. The only exceptions will be for relief-only pitchers (no min. IP). You will also have to place these players on your draft card and will be subject to the same circumstances as in Rule #4.

6. The remaining players selected through the autodraft do not have any eligibility restrictions with respect to AB or IP with the franchise.

7. Divisions will be as follows (determined randomly):

[u:f65bfa5a6f]EAST[/u:f65bfa5a6f]
Red Sox
White Sox
Twins
As

[u:f65bfa5a6f]CENTRAL[/u:f65bfa5a6f]
Reds
Indians
Cardinals
Yankees

[u:f65bfa5a6f]WEST[/u:f65bfa5a6f]
Braves
Cubs
Pirates
Giants[/quote:f65bfa5a6f]

Had to move this here because I got tired of looking at it 3 pages back to make sure everyone sees the IP AB requirement for this round Was blown out the saddle Thought I had exclusive rights to Gorman Thomas and he did not bat enough times with the Indians for this round Ouch because I'm a stinker when it comes to finding guys that had a cup of coffee with a team and left town

Not sure if the lottery has already been decided for the draft but I'll be away from the computer until late afternoon or early evening.
